In a statement from the second International Consensus Conference for Laparoscopic Liver Resection, adult-to-adult laparoscopic donor surgery was earliest phase of development. It recommended that procedure be performed under institutional ethical approval and reporting registry. At our institute, we started laparoscopy-assisted hepatectomy (LADH) in 2007 changed to pure (PLDH) 2012. This study included 40 living donors who underwent LADH 14 live PLDH. We describe technical aspects outcomes...

Recent studies revealed that both disseminated tumor cells and noncancerous contributed to cancer progression cooperatively in the bone marrow. Here, RNA-seq analysis of marrow from gastric patients was performed identify prognostic markers for cancer.Bone samples eight (stages I IV: n = 4 each) were used analysis. Results validated through quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) HIST1H3D expression 175 marrow, 92 peripheral blood, 115 primary patients. miR-760 assayed using qRT-PCR 105 96...

Cancer relapse occurs with substantial frequency even after treatment curative intent. Here we studied drug-tolerant colonies (DTCs), which are subpopulations of cancer cells that survive in the presence drugs. Proteomic characterization DTCs identified stemness- and epithelial-dominant subpopulations, but functional screening suggested DTC formation was regulated at transcriptional level independent from protein expression patterns. We consistently found α-amanitin, an RNA polymerase II...

Despite of remarkable improvement postoperative 5-FU–based adjuvant chemotherapy, the relapse rate gastric cancer patients who undergo curative resection followed by chemotherapy remains substantial. Therefore, it is important to identify prediction markers for chemotherapeutic efficacy 5-FU. We recently identified NF-κB as a candidate biomarker in cancer. To evaluate biological significance context we analyzed NF-κB-dependent response upon 5-FU treatment cell lines. Seven genes induced an...

Here, we report a case of 68-year-old woman with cT4N0M1 (liver invasion and multiple lung metastases) metastatic renal cell carcinoma. We could carry out less invasive nephrectomy partial hepatectomy because nivolumab administration as second-line therapy reduced the primary tumor remarkably. To best our knowledge, this is first use before carrying surgery, histological findings showed pathological complete response.

Liver transplantation is often the only lifesaving option for acute liver failure (ALF); however, predictors of short-term mortality (death within one year) after living donor (LDLT) ALF have yet to be defined. We retrospectively collected patients ≥18 years old who underwent LDLT between 2010 and 2020 at 35 centers in Asia. Univariate multivariate logistic regression analyses were conducted identify clinical variables related establish a novel scoring system. The Kaplan-Meier method was...

Background: In a statement by the second International Consensus Conference for Laparoscopic Liver Resection (LLR), minor LLR was confirmed to be standard surgical practice, as it has become adopted an increasing proportion of surgeons. However, is unclear whether this applies more complex group patients suffering from cirrhosis. Therefore, aim retrospective study compare feasibility and safety hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) between non-liver cirrhosis (NLC) liver (LC) at single high-volume...

Emphysematous cholecystitis (EC) is an uncommon variant of acute cholecystitis, which caused by secondary infection the gallbladder wall with gas-forming organisms. The mortality rate EC still as high 25%. Emergency surgical intervention indicated. Open cholecystectomy has been traditionally accepted a standard treatment for EC. Abstract Aim Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) is increasingly carried out worldwide. However, there are concerns regarding ischemia‐reperfusion injury caused by pneumoperitoneum and the Pringle maneuver. It not clear whether perioperative use of glucocorticoids lowers risk hepatic in LLR as has been reported for open resection. The aim present study was to investigate role glucocorticoid improving function surgical outcomes after LLR. Methods In this double‐blind, randomized controlled...
