Modern sugarcanes are polyploid interspecific hybrids, combining high sugar content from Saccharum officinarum with hardiness, disease resistance and ratooning of spontaneum. Sequencing a haploid S. spontaneum, AP85-441, facilitated the assembly 32 pseudo-chromosomes comprising 8 homologous groups 4 members each, bearing 35,525 genes alleles defined. The reduction basic chromosome number 10 to in spontaneum was caused by fissions 2 ancestral chromosomes followed translocations chromosomes....

The importance of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in plant development has been established, but a systematic analysis lncRNAs expressed during pollen and fertilization elusive. We performed time series RNA-seq experiments at five developmental stages three different points after pollination Brassica rapa identified 12 051 putative lncRNAs. A comprehensive view dynamic lncRNA expression networks underpinning was provided. B. share many common characteristics lncRNAs: relatively short length,...

The ripening of papaya is a physiological and metabolic process associated with accumulation carotenoids, alternation flesh color flavor, which depending on genotype external factors such as light hormone. Transcription regulating carotenoid biosynthesis have not been analyzed during fruit ripening. RNA-Seq experiments were implemented using different stages from two varieties. Cis-elements in lycopene β-cyclase genes (CpCYC-B CpLCY-B) identified, followed by genome-wide analysis to identify...

Male-sterile plants provide an important breeding tool for the heterosis of hybrid crops, such as Brassicaceae. In last decade, circular RNAs (circRNAs), a novel class covalently closed and single-stranded endogenous non-coding (ncRNAs), have received much attention because their functions “microRNA (miRNA) sponges” “competing RNAs” (ceRNAs). However, information about circRNAs in regulation male-sterility anther development is limited. this study, we established Polima cytoplasm male...

Genic male sterility (GMS) line is an important approach to utilize heterosis in Brassica rapa, one of the most widely cultivated vegetable crops Northeast Asia. However, molecular genetic mechanisms GMS remain be largely unknown.Detailed phenotypic observation 'Bcajh97-01A/B', a B. rapa genic sterile AB this study revealed that aberrant meiotic cytokinesis and premature tapetal programmed cell death occurring ultimately resulted microspore degeneration pollen wall defect. Further gene...

Male-sterile mutants are useful materials to study the anther and pollen development. Here, whole transcriptome sequencing was performed for inflorescences in three sterile lines of Chinese cabbage (Brassica campestris L. ssp. chinensis Makino, syn. B. rapa chinensis), genic male-sterile line (A line), Polima cytoplasmic (CMS) (P Ogura CMS (O line) along with their maintainer (B line). In total, 7,136 differentially expressed genes (DEGs), 361 long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) (DELs), 56...

Sepsis is a reaction to infection with high morbidity and mortality. It has been noted that patients obesity were more likely suffer from sepsis. However, the causality remains elucidating, as reverse residual confounding could not be largely mitigated in conventional observational studies. To evaluate risk of sepsis attributed phenotypes including body mass index (BMI), waist circumstance (WC), WC adjusted for BMI (WCadjBMI) causal way.We conducted two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR)...

Abstract Sugarcane is the most important sugar and biofuel crop. MADS-box genes encode transcription factors that are involved in developmental control signal transduction plants. Systematic analyses of have been reported many plant species, but its identification characterization were not possible until a reference genome autotetraploid wild type sugarcane specie, Saccharum spontaneum available recently. We identified 182 sequences S. genome, which annotated into 63 genes, including 6...

Sugarcane is an important crop for sugar production worldwide. The Sugars Will Eventually be Exported Transporters (SWEETs) are a group of transporters recently identified in sugarcane. In Saccharum spontaneum, SsSWEET13c played role the sucrose transportation from source to sink tissues, which was found mainly active mature leaf. However, function and regulation SWEETs sugarcane remain elusive despite extensive studies performed on metabolism. In this study, we showed that member SWEET gene...

Brucella, a zoonotic facultative intracellular pathogenic bacterium, poses significant threat both to human health and the development of livestock industry. Alanine racemase (Alr), enzyme responsible for alanine racemization, plays pivotal role in regulating virulence this bacterium. Moreover, Brucella mutants with alr gene deletions (Δalr) exhibit potential as vaccine candidates. However, mechanisms that underlie detrimental effects knockouts on pathogenicity remain elusive.
