Abstract The last decade has seen a substantial increase in research focused on the identification of blood‐based biomarkers that have utility Alzheimer's disease (AD). Blood‐based significant advantages being time‐ and cost‐efficient as well reduced invasiveness increased patient acceptance. Despite these efforts, field been hampered by lack reproducibility an unclear path for moving basic discovery toward clinical utilization. Here we reviewed recent literature AD to provide current state...

Research on age-related cognitive impairment is scarce in Central America. Apolipoprotein E (ApoE) genotype was assessed subset cases (n 135). Age (OR 2.53, 95% CI 1.03-6.17) and ApoE ɛ4 5.14, 2.11-12.52) were significantly related to (AD/MCI combined). Results underscore the potential genetic screening for identifying those at risk dementia.
