L-cysteine is an important amino acid in terms of its industrial applications. We previously found a marked production from glucose recombinant Escherichia coli cells expressing altered cysE gene encoding feedback inhibition-insensitive serine acetyltransferase. Also, lower level cysteine desulfhydrase (CD) activity, which involved degradation, increased productivity E. coli. The use efflux system could be promising for breeding overproducers. In addition to YdeD and YfiK, have been reported...

In this study, we found that two sesquiterpene lactones, isobutyroylplenolin and arnicolide D, from Centipeda minima L. (Compositae) exerted stronger cytotoxic activity than cisplatin on the human colon carcinoma HT-29 cell line. Furthermore, cytotoxicity of these compounds normal cells was weaker cisplatin. Treatment with D increased levels intracellular reactive oxygen species decreased nuclear factor-κB protein, resulting in cycle arrest G1 phase apoptosis. We also discuss difference...
To determine whether esophagectomy provides a survival advantage in octogenarians with resectable thoracic esophageal cancer.Elderly patients cancer do not always receive the full standard treatment; however, advanced age alone should preclude use of effective treatment that could meaningfully improve survival. We retrieved 2008 to 2011 data from National Database Hospital-based Cancer Registries Centerin Japan, divided into ≥75 group (75-79 years; n = 2935) and ≥80 (80 years or older; 2131),...

We hypothesized that a high expression status predicts more favorable prognosis after esophagectomy. used an ESCC tissue microarray (TMA) to examine patients determine whether correlates with curative also examined PGN influences proliferation activity of lines.
