Paclitaxel-coated balloons (PCBs) are a preferred treatment option for coronary in-stent restenosis. To date, data from randomized trials of alternative drug coatings lacking. The aim the Malaysian and German-Swiss was to investigate novel sirolimus-coated balloon (SCB) compared with PCB in restenosis. One hundred one patients drug-eluting stent restenosis were enrolled 2 identical comparing SCB (SeQuent SCB, 4 μg/mm²) clinically proven Please, 3 μg/mm²). Background: Three main phenotypes describe heart failure (HF) according to left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF). This study aims the characteristics, management and outcomes of hospitalised patients with HF categorised by LVEF. Methods: The Malaysian National Heart Failure (MY-HF) Registry is a 3-year prospective, observational admitted for acute HF. analysis includes 2,651 into: reduced (HFrEF; LVEF ≤40%), mildly (HFmrEF; 41−49%) preserved (HFpEF; ≥50%). Hospital readmission mortality...

In percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of de novo lesions, drug-coated balloons (DCB) have been shown to be a promising strategy improve clinical outcomes patients with small vessel disease. Evidence this in PCI lesions real-world setting is limited. The objective study was compare the 12-month 2 paclitaxel-coated balloon systems for treatment all artery lesions.

BACKGROUND: Reports on healthcare worker antibody response to COVID-19 infection are scarce. We aim determine the prevalence among workers in a cardiology centre and relationship between case definition criteria with result. METHODS: Convenience sampling was applied. Healthcare Sarawak Heart Centre (SHC) cardiology, radiology, emergency unit were recruited. A survey form clinical symptoms close contact history distributed. HEALGEN IgG/IgM rapid test performed using serum/ whole blood...

Patients undergoing elective percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) with drug-eluting stents (DES) who have impaired clopidogrel response, a higher risk of subsequent major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE).To establish the relationship between CYP2C19 genotype, responsiveness and 1-year MACE.Aspirin/clopidogrel responses were assessed Multiplate Analyzer CYP2C19*2 allele by SpartanRx.A total 42.0% carried ≥1 allele. The high-risk "Shark Fin" electrocardiogram (ECG) pattern has been associated with transmural ischemia but can also result from electrolyte anomalies. Therefore, the decision for invasive coronary catheterization requires a detailed history and dedicated biochemical tests.

Pseudo-infarction electrocardiographic changes associated with hypokalemia and hypocalcemia is rare. A 76-year-old lady previous total thyroidectomy presented unspecific symptoms. Electrocardiogram demonstrated ST-elevation. She was found to have delayed onset hypoparathyroidism. This may suggest possible etiologies like coronary vasospasm catecholamine-associated myocardial injury.

Background: N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP) provides prognostic information regarding the risk of death, acute heart failure and development AF in patients with coronary syndrome. While there are established cut-off values for association between clinical assessment scores in-hospital mortality, is no clear value NT-proBNP to guide stratification MI (AMI). Our study sought evaluate all-cause mortality post AMI compare other available scores. Methods: We conducted a...

Background: Fractional flow reserve (FFR) using an invasive pressure wire is recommended to guide coronary revascularisation in stable artery disease. Coronary angiography-based wire-free FFR (CAFFR) determines the significance of a lesion without requirement wire. Deferral lesions with >0.8 has been shown have similar outcomes patients managed optimal medical therapy. Objective: The aim our study was assess performance and 12-month clinical CAFFR-guided percutaneous intervention (PCI)...

Background: Growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) is an emerging prognostic biomarker in heart failure (HF). However, there are limited data on its role HF patients southeast Asia. This prospective observational study investigated the association between GDF-15 and various clinical parameters, predicting all-cause mortality. Methods: 160 with chronic reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) enrolled October 2020 April 2021. At entry, baseline N-terminal pro B-type natriuretic...
