Abstract The Leptomias group represents one of the most diverse taxonomic weevils in Qinghai‐Tibet Plateau and its adjacent areas. Despite potential hidden diversity, relatively few comprehensive studies have been conducted on species diversity this group. In study, we performed DNA barcoding analysis for using a barcode dataset that included 476 sequences representing 54 morphospecies. Within dataset, our laboratory contributed 474 sequences, 390 were newly generated study. average Kimura...

Rapid genomic change has been demonstrated in several allopolyploid plant systems; however, few studies focused on animals. We addressed this issue using an allotetraploid lineage (4nAT) of freshwater fish originally derived from the interspecific hybridization red crucian carp (Carassius auratus var., ♀, 2n=100) × common (Cyprinus carpio L., ♂, 2n=100). constructed a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library hybrids 20th generation (F20) and sequenced 14 BAC clones representing total...

Abstract Hybridization and polyploidization are considered important driving forces that form new epigenetic regulations. To study the changing patterns of expression accompanying hybridization polyploidization, we used RNA-seq qRT-PCR to investigate global homoeologue in diploid tetraploid hybrids Carassius auratus red var. (♀) (R) Cyprinus carpio (♂) (C). By comparing relative levels between their parents, defined level dominance (ELD) bias (HEB) liver tissue. The results showed...

Cynanchum is a large genus with some important medicinal species in China. The are easily confused, leading to potential safety risks. In this study, the internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) barcode was used discriminate plants Cynanchum. identifying capability of ITS2 assessed using specific genetic divergence, BLAST1, neighbor-joining (NJ) tree, maximum-likelihood (ML) and single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) methods. Results indicated that intra-specific divergences were lower than their...

Thirteen relatively frequently collected species of baridine weevils from mainland China were mapped to improve our understanding biogeographic patterns and distributional ranges Baridinae in the Palaearctic Oriental regions. This simple case study showed that taxonomists tend underestimate spatial scope required regional investigations descriptive works often resulting widespread being described numerous times. Several apparently uncommon with uncertain relationships, known previously only...

Hybridization and polyploidization are regarded as the major driving forces in plant speciation, diversification, ecological adaptation. Our knowledge regarding mechanisms of duplicated-gene regulation following genomic merging or doubling is primarily derived from plants sparse for vertebrates. We successfully obtained an F1 generation (including allodiploid hybrids triploid hybrids) female Megalobrama amblycephala Yih (BSB, 2n = 48) × male Xenocypri davidi Bleeker (YB, 48). The expression...

Genus Epimedium consists of approximately 50 species in China, and more than half them possess medicinal properties. The high similarity species' morphological characteristics complicates the identification accuracy, leading to potential risks herbal efficacy medical safety. In this study, we tested applicability four single loci, namely, rbcL, psbA-trnH, internal transcribed spacer (ITS), ITS2, their combinations as DNA barcodes identify 37 on basis analyses, including success rates PCR...

These species are often confused with one another because their highly similar morphological characteristics. This confusion leads to misuse medicinal market threatening efficiency safety. It belongs to section Ocellatae Pfitzer & Kraenzl. it morphologically similar corymbosa C. taronensis, but can be distinguished these by its larger flowers, lanceolate sepals petals, narrowly ovate lip, which has two bright yellow patches surrounded shiny brownish red fimbriate or erose-lacerate lateral keels on the lip. The major differences between are outlined discussed.

Triploid fish show significant growth heterosis compared to their parents, but its underlying molecular mechanisms are still largely unknown. In this study, Sequential Window Acquisition of All Theoretical Mass Spectra-based quantitative proteomic profiling was performed on the liver tissues from triploid crucian carp (TCC) and parents red (RCC) allotetraploid (4nAT). Comparative proteomics analysis revealed that several causal proteins were differentially regulated between TCC parents....
