Processing of dark tea varieties, such as Fu brick tea, Liupao Qianliang and Qing includes solid-state fermentation involving microorganisms. In this study, we analyzed the major chemical constituents extracts evaluated their modulatory effect on gastrointestinal function in normal mice, including improvement transit intestinal microbial, well attenuation microbial dysbiosis pathological damage, adjustment immune antibiotic-treated mice. Substantial differences constituents, total...

ABSTRACT Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe listeriosis, with the consumption of contaminated food being an important route its transmission. Biopreservatives be used for prevention and control L. in food. In this study, we identified a novel lantibiotic, mycoidesin, potent bacteriostatic activity against . It exhibited 4- to 16-fold higher strains than nisin A. Analysis mode action mycoidesin revealed that it exerted ATCC 19111 at low high concentrations (1×–32× MIC, 0.39–12.5 µM)....

We identified a novel leaderless bacteriocin, toyoncin, produced by B. toyonensis XIN-YC13. Toyoncin shows good pH and heat stability, it has specific antimicrobial activity against cereus L. monocytogenes (two important foodborne pathogens), likely destroying their cell membrane integrity.

In recent years, bacteriocins have attracted considerable interest for use as natural food preservatives against spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms. Recent studies shown that the strains of Bacillus cereus group produce a range highly diverse bacteriocins. this study, we screened large number isolated one strain, sp. Xin1, with antimicrobial activity several food-borne pathogens. A novel circular bacteriocin, bacicyclicin XIN-1 (MW: 5848.1719 Da), was purified from culture supernatant...

Bacteriocins are bacterial-derived peptides that exhibit antimicrobial activity and can be used as food preservatives. Here, using the indicator strain Bacillus cereus CMCC63301, we screened identified a thuringiensis LX43 exhibits potent harbors putative leaderless bacteriocin gene cluster (thn cluster). Five novel bacteriocins, thuricin A1, A2, A3, A4, A5, encoded by thn cluster, were purified identified. Thuricin A5 was regarded representative showed remarkable against foodborne pathogens...

Abstract: Golden-flower fungus, the only dominant microorganism determining Fu-brick tea quality through fermentation, is considered a potential probiotic fungus based on its anti-obesity effect. However, classification of golden-flower fungi still controversial; effect polysaccharides remains unknown. In this study, we identify strain as Aspergillus cristatus morphological characteristics and multigene phylogeny analysis, which resolves controversy classification....

The chemical compositions, bioactive ingredients, and in vitro antitumor activity were analyzed using water extracts from the dried fermented mycelia of Cephalosporium sinensis (C1), Paecilomyces hepiali (C2), Cordyceps cicadae (C3), as well fruiting bodies C. militaris (C4). Total amino acid content was highest C3, compared with C1, C2, C4, natural (S1). contents Fe, Zn, Mn, Ca Zn/Cu ratio C1-C3 obviously different than those C4 S1, whereas Na K/Na ratios S1 C1 C2. ε-poly-l-lysine (ε-PL) has been routinely used as a natural and safe preservative for many years in the food industry. However, most existing production methods struggle to achieve low cost high simultaneously. In this work, we present co-culture fermentation strategy enhance ε-PL production. Specifically, screened strain from five different strains that could be co-cultured with Streptomyces albulus raise of ε-PL. Subsequently, single factor experiment response surface design were optimize...

In this study, the production of yellow pigment by Monascus purpureus upon addition sucrose esters under submerged fermentation was significantly promoted. When integrated with immobilised using 0.75 g corn cob as carrier for 5 days, yield reached 39.24 AU/50 mL and 4.12 times that control group. integrative five-batch gave a higher than free fermentation. The extracellular in fourth batch maximum value 56.71 mL. Transcriptome analysis revealed effectively regulated pyruvate metabolism...
