Periodontitis is a widespread oral disease that results in the loss of alveolar bone. Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS), which new therapeutic option, promotes bone regeneration periodontal injury models. This study investigated protective effect LIPUS on oxidative stress periodontitis and mechanism underlying this process. Methods: An experimental model was induced by administering ligature. Immunohistochemistry performed to detect expression levels stress, osteogenic,...
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have emerged as a new mode of intercellular crosstalk and are responsible for many the therapeutic effects MSCs. To promote application MSC-EVs, recent studies focused on manipulation MSCs to improve production EVs EV-mediated activities. The current paper details an optimization method using non-invasive low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) stimulation improving oral MSC-EV effectiveness. Stem apical papilla (SCAP),...
Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) dysfunction is a potential contributor to the impaired repair capacity of periodontal tissue in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. Restoring ER homeostasis thus critical for successful regenerative therapy diabetic tissue. Recent studies have shown that metformin can modulate DM-induced dysfunction, yet its mechanism remains unclear. Herein, we show high glucose elevates intracellular miR-129-3p level due exocytosis-mediated release failure and subsequently perturbs...
Abstract Aim To explore the role of C‐reactive protein (CRP) in periodontitis and diabetes its mechanism alveolar bone homeostasis. Materials Methods In vivo, normal, Crp knockout (KO) rats were randomly divided into control, diabetes, periodontitis, groups, respectively. The model was established using a high‐fat diet combined with streptozotocin injection. by ligature lipopolysaccharide (LPS) Alveolar bones analysed micro‐computed tomography, histology, immunohistochemistry. vitro, human...
Exosomes secreted by stem cells are recognized as a critical component in tissue regeneration during cell-based therapy. Considering the limited sources and bone efficiency of human periodontal ligament (hPDLCs), we explored whether exosomes from exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHED-exo) could improve pluripotency regenerative potential hPDLCs.In hPDLCs, cell proliferation, migration, cycle, apoptosis, osteogenic differentiation were detected after exposed to SHED-exo (SHED-exo group), blank...
Human periodontal ligament stem cells (hPDLSCs) sheets play an important role in tissue engineering. Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound (LIPUS) has been reported as effective stimulus to regulate cell biological behavior. The present study aims explore the potential of LIPUS promote formation and function hPDLSC (hPDLSCSs). Hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining, western blot, real-time PCR, alkaline phosphatase (ALP), alizarin red staining were used evaluate osteogenic effect on hPDLSCSs vitro....
Extracellular matrix (ECM)-based biomaterials developed from mammalian tissues have been successfully used in preclinical and clinical tissue engineering applications. We previously reported about the applicability of dentin-based scaffold, treated dentin (TDM), for tooth root regeneration. However, TDM protein composition has not characterized. Here, we a shotgun proteomic strategy to profile human proteome. N-glycoproteins were enriched by lectin affinity chromatography identified mass...
BACKGROUND: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a cluster of metabolic abnormalities that can affect civilian pilots’ health. Its prevalence and the correlation with periodontal disease (PD) among pilots had not been previously reported. The aim study was to determine MetS PD status, reveal their relationship in representative sample Chinese pilots. METHODS: We investigated 303 (mean age 34.92 ± 7.66 yr). General information as well blood saliva samples were collected. Diagnostic criteria for based...
This study was performed to investigate the shape, characteristics, and correlation of labial grooves on anterior maxillary dentition. Individual teeth (N = 621) were investigated using a microscopic three-dimensional digital image system. The average length, width, depth quantified, groove patterns in symmetry dentition studied. There nine common central incisors, eight lateral canines. A good found between left right number pattern correlated among may provide guidance for clinical design grooves.
