An efficient artificial light-harvesting system is fabricated from a cyclic polysaccharide, sulfato-β-cyclodextrin (SCD); an aggregation-induced emission molecule, oligo(phenylenevinylene) derivative (OPV-I); and fluorescent dye, nile red (NiR), via noncovalent interactions in aqueous solution. In this system, the OPV-I/SCD supramolecular assembly acts as donor, NiR that loaded into acceptor. Significantly, energy-transfer process occurs between NiR, leading to extremely high antenna effect.

A supramolecular gel was constructed by using an imidazolium-based surfactant, N-cetyl-N'-carboxymethyl imidazolium bromide ([N-C16, N'-CO2H-Im]Br), in the DMSO/H2O binary solvent mixtures and investigated as adsorbent for removing dyes from aqueous solution. The self-assembled displays a morphology of microplatelets stacked bilayer units with interdigitated hydrocarbon tails, structure remains unchanged below sol-gel transition temperature. also exhibits strong birefringence property...

Two imidazolium-based surface-active ionic liquids with aromatic counterions, namely, 1-dodecyl-3-methylimidazolium salicylate (C12mimSal) and 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoate (C12mimHNC), were synthesized, their aggregate behavior in aqueous solutions was systematically explored. Surface tension conductivity measurements indicate that both C12mimSal C12mimHNC show superior surface activity compared to the common SAIL same hydrocarbon chain length, bromide (C12mimBr). This result demonstrates...

Halogen-free and low-cost alkylcarboxylate-based anionic surface active ionic liquids (SAILs), namely, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium alkylcarboxylates ([C4mim][C(n)H(2n-1)O2], n = 8, 10, 12), were first synthesized through the neutralization of imidazolium hydroxide by alkylcarboxylic acids. A systematic study their self-aggregation behavior in water was investigated tension, electrical conductivity, steady-state fluorescence quenching, (1)H NMR. The micellar properties this series SAILs...

Reactive oxygen species (ROS)-induced oxidative stress plays a key role in the pathogenesis and progression of psoriasis by causing inflammation. Antioxidative strategies eradicating ROS may serve as effective easy treatment options for psoriasis, while nanozymes with intrinsic antioxidant enzyme-like activity have not been explored treatment. The aim this study is to fabricate β-cyclodextrins (β-CDs)-modified ceria nanoparticles (β-CDs/CeO2 NPs) drug-loaded multimimic-enzyme activities...

The advent of enzyme-facilitated cascade events in which endogenous substrates within the human body are used to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) has spawned novel cancer treatment possibilities. In this study, a supramolecular catalytic nanozyme system was successfully developed, exhibiting photothermal-enhanced multienzyme and glutathione (GSH) depletion activities ultimately triggering apoptosis-ferroptosis synergistic tumor therapy. fabricated using β-cyclodextrin-functionalized...

The self-assembly behavior of an imidazolium-based catanionic surfactant, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium dodecylsulfate ([C4mim][C12H25SO4]), was investigated in water–ethylammonium nitrate (EAN) mixed solvents with different volume ratios. It is particular interesting that this simple surfactant could not only form lyotropic liquid crystals (LLC) multimesophases, i.e., normal hexagonal (H1), lamellar crystal (Lα), and reverse bicontinuous cubic phase (V2), the water-rich environment but also...
