We consider discrete bilevel optimization problems where the follower solves an integer program with a fixed number of variables. Using recent results in parametric programming, we present polynomial time algorithms for pure and mixed problems. For case leader's variables are continuous, our algorithm also detects whether infimum cost fails to be attained, difficulty that has been identified but not directly addressed literature. In this case, it yields "better than fully time" approximation...

Abstract BACKGROUND Recurrence rates for atypical and anaplastic meningiomas range between 9% 50% after gross total resection 36% 83% subtotal resection. Optimal treatment of recurrent exhibiting atypical/anaplastic histology is complicated because they are often refractory to both surgery radiation. OBJECTIVE To evaluate clinical determinants recurrence treatment-specific outcomes in patients with at our institution. METHODS A cohort study was conducted using data all treated first January...

Safety-net hospitals (SNHs) provide essential services to predominantly underserved patients regardless of their ability pay. We hypothesized that who underwent coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) would have inferior observed outcomes at SNHs compared with non-SNHs but matched cohorts comparable outcomes. We queried the Nationwide Readmissions Database for isolated CABG from 2016 2018. ranked by percentage all admissions in which patient was uninsured or insured Medicaid; top quartile were...

Multiple congenital or developmental anomalies associated with the central nervous system have been reported in English Bulldogs. The purpose of this retrospective study was to identify and describe prevalence MRI characteristics these their association presence degree cerebral ventriculomegaly. Magnetic resonance imaging studies 50 Bulldogs were evaluated. Forty‐eight dogs had some ventriculomegaly, 27 which an otherwise normal brain. Presence lateral ventriculomegaly not significantly...

Coronary arteriography and left ventriculography, performed in a 42-year old patient with unstable angina seven months after myocardial infarct showed communications from both the anterior descending right coronary arteries to ventricular chamber. The area of communication corresponded site infarction as established by electrocardiogram ventriculogram. Whether this is congenital or acquired lesion unclear.

Abstract Direct cell reprogramming represents a promising new myocardial regeneration strategy involving in situ transdifferentiation of cardiac fibroblasts into induced cardiomyocytes. Adult human cells are relatively resistant to reprogramming, however, likely because epigenetic restraints on gene activation. We hypothesized that modulation the regulator p63 could improve efficiency cardio-differentiation. qRT-PCR analysis demonstrated significantly increased expression panel cardiomyocyte...

Abstract Fibroblast reprogramming offers the potential for myocardial regeneration via in situ cell transdifferentiation. We explored a novel strategy leveraging endothelial plasticity to enhance efficiency. Rat cardiac cells and fibroblasts were treated with Gata4, Mef2c, Tbx5 (GMT) assess cardio-differentiation of these cells. The transdifferentiation factor ETV2 was transiently over-expressed followed by GMT treatment “trans-endothelial” cardio-differentiation. Endothelial generated more...
