ABSTRACT Urinary bladder cancer includes non‐muscle invasive (NMIBC) and muscle (MIBC). While patients with NMIBC have a better prognosis, often recurs, requiring long‐term surveillance repeated treatments. Intravesical Bacillus Calmette‐Guérin (BCG) therapy is standard for high‐grade or recurrent NMIBC; however, 30%–50% of failed to respond, the mechanisms resistance remain unclear. To identify predictive biomarkers response intravesical BCG therapy, we analyzed NANOG Histone deacetylase 1...

Abstract The tumor microenvironment (TME) is a critical regulator of the development malignant lymphoma. Therapeutics targeting TME, especially immune checkpoint molecules, are changing treatment strategy for However, overall response to these therapeutics diffuse large B‐cell lymphoma (DLBCL) modest and new targets immunotherapy needed. To find molecules DLBCL, we explored prognostic impact their ligands using publicly available datasets gene expression profiles. In silico analysis three...

Kikuchi-Fujimoto disease (KFD), also known as histiocytic necrotizing lymphadenitis, is a rare condition characterized by benign localized lymphadenopathy and clinical symptoms such fever, sore throat, odynophagia, leukopenia. Though the etiology of KFD unknown, this similar to viral infection, including increased infiltration activated plasmacytoid dendritic cells. exhibits three histological phases that reflect its progression status: proliferative, necrotic, xanthomatous lesions. The...

Background/Aim: We report on a case of pulmonary tumor embolism caused by squamous cell carcinoma the uterine cervix. Patients and Methods: A 60-year-old female diagnosed with stage IVB (cT4N1M1) cervix was admitted to our institution chief complaint progressive dyspnea that developed within few days after admission. Results: chest CT scan showed dilated arteries, right ventricular enlargement mosaic ground-glass opacities in both lungs. An echocardiogram revealed elevated pressure floppy...

Abstract Aim Umbilical cord ulceration (UCU) is a disease in which an ulcer forms the umbilical pregnant uterus and accompanied by hemorrhaging from same site. UCU occurs fetuses with congenital upper‐intestinal atresia (CUIA); however, its onset mechanism remains unclear. Here, we report our investigation of cases hospital. Methods Among 9825 deliveries performed between 2007 2016 at this hospital, 20 were diagnosed CUIA, 4 (20%) had UCU. There was no difference backgrounds (UCU group:...

Abstract Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is a spindle cell driven by the NAB2‐STAT6 fusion gene. While it can originate from any soft tissue, primary SFT of pancreas rare with limited reports. A 36‐year‐old man came to our department due abdominal pain. Computed tomography revealed circular mass weak peripheral enhancement and an internal cyst in pancreatic tail. Diagnosis was not confirmed through endoscopic ultrasound‐guided biopsy, differential diagnoses included acinar carcinoma...

The current World Health Organization (WHO) classification defines a new disease entity of high-grade B-cell lymphoma with MYC and BCL2 and/or BCL6 rearrangements, making fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) screening for these genes mandatory. In addition, the prognostic significance expression was reported, cut-off value 40%. However, interobserver discrepancies arise due to heterogeneous intensity by immunohistochemistry. Moreover, positivity protein diffuse large (DLBCL) varies...

We compared the two methods of assessing CD30 protein expression in DLBCL and TCL specimens routinely employed at our hospital, immunohistochemistry (IHC) flow cytometry (FCM), using same clone anti-CD30 antibody (Ber-H2) 123 patients with 28 TCL. FCM was more sensitive than IHC, especially cases low expression. In three DLBCL, there discordance between these methods. Two were ALCL one peripheral T-cell lymphoma, NOS, but unable to be excluded. One an anaplastic variant DLBCL. The data...

Intravascular large B-cell lymphoma (IVLBCL) is a rare characterized by the selective growth of cells within lumen vessels. We describe case 69-year-old male who presented with marked pain in left facial region. Gadolinium-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging revealed swollen trigeminal nerve (TN) and positron emission tomography/computed tomography demonstrated fluorodeoxyglucose-only uptake at same site. The patient had high serum lactate dehydrogenase soluble interleukin-2 receptor levels....
