Abstract Background Ovarian cancer (OC) is one of the most common gynecological tumors with high morbidity and mortality. Altered serum N -glycome has been observed in many diseases, while association between protein -glycosylation OC progression remains unclear, particularly for onset carcinogenesis from benign neoplasms to cancer. Methods Herein, a mass spectrometry based high-throughput technique was applied characterize profile individuals healthy controls, different stages OC. To...

Semen from 5210 sperm bank donors was analyzed and trends in semen quality were evaluated at Shandong Human Sperm Bank between 2008 2014. After 2-7 days of abstinence, samples collected. Measurements volume, concentration, forward motility, total count performed. There significant declining count. Our results indicate that the this cohort had decreased during study period.

Abstract Metallosupramolecular polymers (MSPs) have shown great potential in the area of oxygen electrocatalysis due to their tunable electronic structure, and predictable coordination environment. Further exploration structure−performance relationships electrocatalysts is crucial for designing highly efficient catalysts. Herein, a strategy proposed prepare MSP‐based bifunctional with different electrocatalytic preferences (Co‐AQ Co‐AN) by adjusting structure organic linkers. The effects...

Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) is a very concerning pathogen due to its ability persist in the host’s nervous system and continuously interfere with immune system, which complicates treatment. Therefore, development of an effective HSV-1 vaccine crucial. In this study, we focused on mutant strain, M6, includes several deleted genes associated viral infection virulence latent function, explored macrophages immunological characteristics. The study found that both attenuated strain M6...

To investigate whether early apoptotic changes in spermatozoa can be significant markers for sperm quality. Two the semen of 56 men were assessed using Annexin V (AN)/propidium iodide (PI) staining phosphatidylserine externalization and JC-1 mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP). The results compared with conventional parameters DNA fragmentation identified TUNEL assay. The different labeling patterns bivariate V/PI analysis four distinctive populations. percentage AN(-)/PI(-) positively...

Abstract ADHD is generally deemed to be a highly heritable disorder with mean heritability of 0.75. The enzyme monoamine oxidase (MAO), which has both A and B types, long been considered candidate pathological substrate for ADHD, more recently, the genes MAO enzymes have examined as mediators illness. Previous studies indicated that 30–50% children will experience symptoms persist into adolescence significant impairment in social neuropsychological functioning compared those whose remitted....

There are many unknown genetic factors that lead to infertility in nonobstructive azoospermia men. Here, we performed whole-exome sequencing blood samples obtained from 40 patients with meiotic arrest and found a novel c.151_154del (p.D51fs) frame-shift mutation exon 3 of the testis expressed 11 (TEX11) gene one patient. Sanger analysis patient 288 fertile men was validate mutation. Immunohistochemical showed TEX11 expression late-pachytene spermatocytes round spermatids human testes. In...

Abstract Background Mitochondria produce adenosine triphosphate through respiratory activities to power sperm differentiation and motility, decreased mitochondrial activity can result in poor motility asthenospermia. The sheath is a component of the mid-piece flagellum, dysfunction reduce cause male infertility. membrane occupation recognition nexus-motif protein 2 (MORN2) testis enriched mice, MORN motif was reported play role regulation bioelectrical signal homeostasis cardiomyocytes....
