A large fraction of stars form in clusters containing high-mass stars, which subsequently influences the local and galaxy-wide environment. Fundamental questions about physics responsible for fragmenting molecular parsec-scale clumps into cores a few thousand astronomical units (au) are still open, that only statistically significant investigation with ALMA is able to address; instance: identification dominant agents determine core demographics, mass, spatial distribution as function...
Abstract Introduction The multi‐phase or four‐dimensional computed tomography (4D CT) has emerged as a promising technique for preoperative localization of parathyroid lesions in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT), but little is known about its accuracy normocalcemic (NPHPT). Methods A total 18 diagnosed PHPT underwent three methods CT, TC‐99‐Sestamibi scintigraphy and ultrasonography). After surgery, the results imaging were compared operative findings, pathological...
Abstract A 57‐year‐old woman developed severe substernal chest pain radiating to the left arm accompanied by pallor and marked diaphoresis. These symptoms appeared at rest, lasted 45 minutes, terminated spontaneously. The patient had been treated for mild hypertension during last 6 months. An ECG tracing obtained beginning of treatment was unremarkable. However, an recorded shortly after end showed T‐wave inversion in all anterior leads. Coronary arteriography then performed no fixed...
The Brazilian Policy for Comprehensive Care People with Rare Diseases was implemented in 2014; however, national epidemiological data on rare diseases (RDs) are scarce and mainly focused specific disorders. To address this gap, University Hospitals, Reference Services Neonatal Screening, Diseases, all of which public health institutions, established the Network (RARAS) 2020. objective study to perform a comprehensive nationwide investigation individuals RDs Brazil. This retrospective survey...
BackgroundIn recent years, patient-reported outcomes (PROs) have received increasing prominence in cardiovascular research and clinical care. An understanding of the variability global experience PROs adults with congenital heart disease (CHD), however, is still lacking. Moreover, information on epidemiological characteristics frailty phenotype older CHD minimal. The APPROACH-IS II study was established to address these knowledge gaps. This paper presents design methodology...
The action of testosterone on the 45Ca2+ uptake and insulin secretion was studied in short-term experiments using isolated pancreatic islets Langerhans. Testosterone (1 µM) stimulated within 60 seconds incubation similar proportion than tolbutamide. Also, hormone rapidly increased release (34 %; 180 seconds) presence non-stimulatory concentrations glucose (3 mM). Impermeant testosterone-BSA significantly to a lower percentage (10 %). is specific - neither 17β-E2 nor progesterone 3 mM...
Traumatic rupture of the interventricular septum is a rare condition usually presenting in infancy and childhood. This report describes two cases: 3-year-old boy operated on soon after diagnosis was made, 15-year-old girl 12 years following causative accident. Both patients had confirmed by cardiac catheterization. The typical appearance traumatic ventricular septal defect (VSD) seen during surgical repair that successfully carried out both patients. protracted clinical course second...
We report two cases of congenital atresia the ostium left coronary artery. Case 1: a six-month-old infant presenting with serious cardiac insufficiency. A noninvasive diagnosis dilated myocardiopathy was established and clinical picture pharmacologically compensated. When patient nine months age, hemodynamic study performed that revealed artery; immediately underwent successful anastomosis internal mammary artery 2: an eleven-year-old asymptomatic boy history heart murmur from age six on,...

During initial evaluation of children on an outpatient basis, the index suspected heart disease may be high, particularly if we consider that innocent murmur occurs in about 50% pediatric population. This is most common cause referral to cardiologist. To report experience a public clinic southeastern region Brazil.Retrospective analysis all patients submitted cardiologic within 39 month period.Public cardiology clinic.2675 consecutive aged</=15 years referred from local and regional basic...
Naphazoline (NA) is an α-adrenergic agonist derived from imidazoline. Due to its vasoconstrictor action, it widely used as a nasal decongestant with rapid onset of action. It presents few studies on side effects, most case accidental ingestion in children under two years age. We report the relationship between NA intoxication and symptomatic bradycardia, reversed after administration intravenous Naloxone, young adult patient.
Coronary recanalization with thrombolytic agents is a new therapeutic approach to the treatment of acute myocardial infarction that can be beneficial even patients in cardiogenic shock. Although few cases have been reported literature, occlusion left main coronary artery (LMCA) has made possible by reperfusion. This communication concerns patient LMCA who was successfully treated therapy streptokinase followed revascularization myocardium seventy-two hours after reperfusion achieved.
We describe the case of a 40-day-old female patient with history breathlessness since birth who was referred to our hospital for surgical correction common arterial trunk. The invasive investigation disclosed Fallot¢s tetralogy anatomy associated an anomalous origin left pulmonary artery from ascending aorta. Immediately after diagnosis, underwent successful total defect, including simultaneous anastomosis
To access the incidence of diagnostic errors in initial evaluation children with cardiac murmurs. We evaluated our 7-years experience a public pediatric cardiology outpatient clinic. Of 3692 patients who were sent to hospital, 2603 presented heart murmur and investigated. Patients for whom disagreement existed between final diagnoses divided into following 2 groups: G1 (n=17) an diagnosis innocent cardiopathy, G2 (n=161) cardiopathy normal heart. In G1, great majority had defects mild...
In 2020, there was an estimated prevalence of more than 1.8 million adults with congenital heart disease (ACHDs) living in South America, and 677,000 Central America the Caribbean. The ACHD mortality is higher developing countries, compared developed it has been shown that concentrating this population specialized units improves their survival prognosis. Currently, Latin American (LATAM) Caribbean countries have insufficient number specialists units. Analyzing situation, Inter-American...
