Citrus is a globally important, perennial fruit crop whose rhizosphere microbiome thought to play an important role in promoting citrus growth and health. Here, we report comprehensive analysis of the structural functional composition microbiome. We use both amplicon deep shotgun metagenomic sequencing bulk soil samples collected across distinct biogeographical regions from six continents. Predominant taxa include Proteobacteria, Actinobacteria, Acidobacteria Bacteroidetes. The core...

Heterostructure based interface engineering has been proved an effective method for finding new superconducting systems and raising superconductivity transition temperature (TC). In previous work on one unit-cell (UC) thick FeSe films SrTiO3 (STO) substrate, a superconducting-like energy gap as large 20 meV, was revealed by in situ scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy (STM/STS). Angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) further nearly isotropic of above 15 which closes at ~ 65...

Abstract Genetic and environmental factors collectively determine plant growth yield. In the past 20 years, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have been conducted on crops to decipher genetic loci that contribute yield, however, genotype appears be insufficient explain trait variations. Here, we unravel associations between genotypic, phenotypic, rhizoplane microbiota variables of 827 foxtail millet cultivars by an integrated GWAS, microbiome-wide (MWAS) microbiome (mGWAS) method. The medicinal material quality of Citrus reticulata 'Chachi' differs depending on the bioactive components influenced by planting area. Environmental factors, such as soil nutrients, plant-associated microbiome and climatic conditions, play important roles in accumulation citrus. However, how these environmental factors mediate production plants remains understudied. Here, a multi-omics approach was used to clarify role nutrients root-associated monoterpenes peel C. procured from core...

Bacterial indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), an effector molecule in microbial physiology, plays important role plant growth-promotion. Here, we comprehensively analyzed about 7282 prokaryotic genomes representing diverse bacterial phyla, combined with root-associated metagenomic data to unravel the distribution of tryptophan-dependent IAA synthesis pathways and quantify synthesis-related genes root environments. We found that 82.2% were potentially capable synthesizing from tryptophan (Trp) or...

We have fabricated hybrid magnetic complexes from V atoms and tetracyanoethylene (TCNE) ligands via atomic manipulation with a cryogenic scanning tunneling microscope. Using spectroscopy we observe spin-polarized molecular orbitals as well Kondo behavior. For having two atoms, the behavior can be quenched for different arrangements, even remain unchanged. This is explained by variable spin-spin (i.e., V-V) ferromagnetic coupling through single TCNE molecule, supported density functional calculations.
