The first report of a human case black fly bite caused by Simulium quinquestriatum (Shiraki, 1935) in Japan is described. author (49 years old, male) as volunteer observed the blood-sucking female S. and course dermatitis induced bite. An erythematous macule with itching edema developed at next day inflammatory reaction was severe 2 to 3 days after skin symptoms gradually improved almost disappeared one month.
