Hintergrund: Die progrediente Verschlechterung der Glykämiekontrolle beim Typ 2 Diabetes macht bei vielen Patienten eine antidiabetische Kombinationsbehandlung erforderlich. Eine mögliche Therapieoption ist Einsatz Substanzen Metformin und Pioglitazon, die beide an zentralen pathophysiologischen Grundlagen Erkrankung ansetzen. Mittlerweile steht Fixkombination aus Pioglitazon 15mg 850mg competact® zur Verfügung. Wir haben Wirksamkeit Verträglichkeit dieser unter Praxisbedingungen untersucht.
Der Insulinsensitizer Pioglitazon ist für die Kombination mit Insulin bei Typ-2-Diabetikern zugelassen, allein unzureichend eingestellt sind und Metformin aufgrund von Kontraindikationen oder Unverträglichkeiten nicht geeignet ist.
