Objective:This study explores the usefulness of virtual simulation training for learning to place pedicle screws in lumbar spine.Methods:Twenty-six senior medical students anonymously participated and were randomized into two groups (A = no simulation; B simulation). Both given 15 minutes a sawbones model. Students Group A underwent traditional visual/verbal instruction whereas on screw placement ImmersiveTouch® simulator. The both then placed each models that triplanar thin slice...

Background Flow-diverter stents (FDS) have become the standard of care for a wide range intracranial aneurysms, but their efficacy/safety in context recurrent/recanalized aneurysms following stent-assisted coiling (SAC) is not well established. We evaluate outcomes FDS retreatment large multicenter cohort. Methods retrospectively analyzed data from 118 patients across 22 institutions who underwent recurrent/persistent after SAC (2008–22). Angioplasty and stenting is a treatment option for patients with medically refractory symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease (sICAD). Currently the Wingspan Stent System (WSS) only FDA approved device this indication. We find Resolute (R) Onyx Stent, drug-eluting balloon mounted stent (DES), better alternative to WSS of sICAD. Herein, we present our findings comparing two stents based on single center experience.

Ruptured blister, dissecting, and iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms are rare pathologies that pose significant challenges from a treatment standpoint. Endovascular via flow diversion represents an increasingly popular option; however, drawbacks include the requirement for dual antiplatelet therapy potential thromboembolic complications, particularly acute complications in ruptured setting. The Pipeline Flex embolization device with Shield Technology (PED-Shield) offers reduced material...
