Abstract The first use of an organosilane as a coordinating solvent to synthesize highly luminescent (quantum yield = 47%) amorphous carbon dots (CDs) in one minute is reported. CDs, which benefit from surface methoxysilyl groups, have diameter ~0.9 nm and can easily be fabricated into pure CD fluorescent films or monoliths simply by heating them at 80 ºC for 24 h. Moreover, the non‐water‐stable CDs further transformed water‐soluble CDs/silica particles, are biocompatible with nontoxic...

Silane pre-functionalized carbon dots, arbitrarily doped (0–100% scale) dot nanohybrid gel glasses and macrostructures with high luminescence (quantum yields = 47% 88%, respectively) broadband optical limiting properties (532 1064 nm) are reported. These optically, thermally, mechanically stable, as well highly transmissive (ca. 90%) in the 400–1350 nm region.

The two-line hybrid rice system, a cutting-edge breeding technology, has greatly boosted global food security. In thermo-sensitive genic male sterile (TGMS) lines, the critical sterility-inducing temperature (CSIT; at which TGMS lines change from fertile to complete sterile) acts as key threshold. We recently uncovered that sterility 5 ( tms5 ), locus presenting in over 95% of leads overaccumulation 2′,3′-cyclic phosphate (cP)-ΔCCA-tRNAs and deficiency mature tRNAs, underlies molecular...

Abscisic acid (ABA) and gibberellins (GAs) are plant hormones which antagonistically mediate numerous physiological processes, their optimal balance is essential for normal development. However, the molecular mechanism underlying ABA GA antagonism still needs to be determined. Here, we report that ABA-INSENSITIVE 4 (ABI4) a central factor in GA/ABA homeostasis post-germination stages. ABI4 overexpression Arabidopsis (OE-ABI4) leads developmental defects including decrease height poor seed...

Abstract Zn 2+ plays important roles in metabolism and signaling regulation. Subcellular compartmentalization is essential for organelle functions cell biology, but there currently no method to determine relationships among more than two different organelles with one probe. Here, we report simultaneous tracking multiple (Zn-STIMO), a that uses structured illumination microscopy (SIM) single fluorescent probe, allowing super-resolution morphology-correlated identification living cells. To...

The implantation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) has been reported as a new technique to restore renal tubular structure and improve function in acute kidney injury (AKI). Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) plays an important role the renoprotective MSC. Whether upregulation VEGF by combination MSC gene transfer could enhance protective effect AKI is not clear. We investigated effects VEGF-modified human embryonic (VEGF-hMSC) healing cisplatin-injured epithelial (TCMK-1) with...

Summary Ribosomal RNAs (rRNAs) undergo many modifications during transcription and maturation; homeostasis of rRNA is essential for chloroplast biogenesis in plants. The acts as a hub to sense environmental signals, such cold temperature. However, how RNA contribute low temperature responses remains unknown. Here we reveal that pseudouridine (Ψ) modification rice rRNAs mediated by the synthase (OsPUS1) contributes tolerance at seedling stage. Loss‐function OsPUS1 leads abnormal development...

The integration of an electrochromic (EC), energy storage, and adaptive camouflage system into a multifunctional electronic device is highly desirable yet challenging. In this work, two carbazole-based conjugated polymers were prepared to achieve reversible color change from transparent yellow, green, blue-green by easy electrochemical polymerization. Due its dendritic geometry, the polymer p3CBCB exhibits loosely packed structure with relatively higher specific surface area than pCBCB, as...

Abstract Low temperatures occurring at the booting stage in rice (Oryza sativa L.) often result yield loss by impeding male reproductive development. However, underlying mechanisms which responds to cold this remain largely unknown.
