Kaempferol is a flavonol with broad bioactivity of anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, cardio-protective and anti-asthma. Microbial synthesis kaempferol promising strategy because the low content in primary plant source. In this study, biosynthesis pathway was constructed budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae to produce de novo, several biological measures were taken for high production. Firstly, efficient synthases (FLS) from Populus deltoides introduced into...
Abstract Streptomyces are one of the most important industrial microorganisms for production proteins and small-molecule drugs. Previously reported flow cytometry-based screening methods can only screen spores or protoplasts released from mycelium, which do not represent filamentous stationary phase used in cultivation. Here we show a droplet-based microfluidic platform to facilitate more relevant, reliable rapid achieved an enrichment ratio up 334.2. Using this platform, rapidly...
Negatively charged Pt nanoparticles supported by a [Ti 2 O] 2+ ·2e − electride with self-passivation a-TiO x layer demonstrated superb long-term durability in the electrocatalytic ORR, which is superior to that of commercial Pt/C catalysts.
Actinomycetes are versatile secondary metabolite producers with great application potential in industries. However, industrial strain engineering has long been limited by the inefficient and labor-consuming plate/flask-based screening process, resulting an urgent need for product-driven high-throughput methods actinomycetes. Here, we combine a whole-cell biosensor microfluidic platform to establish producer co-cultivation-based actinomycetes (WELCOME). In WELCOME, develop MphR-based...
Physalis angulata L. is a medicinal plant of the Solanaceae family, which used to produce variety steroids. The present study reports on cytotoxic withanolides this plant. species was identified by DNA barcoding techniques. Two new (1–2), together with six known analogues (3–8), were isolated from whole structures these compounds determined basis extensive spectroscopic data analyses and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. exhibited strong activities against A549, Hela p388...
CRISPR/Cas9-mediated base editors, based on cytidine deaminase or adenosine deaminase, are emerging genetic technologies that facilitate genomic manipulation in many organisms. Since editing is free from DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs), it has certain advantages, such as a lower toxicity, compared to the traditional DSB-based genome engineering technologies. In terms of Streptomyces, method been successfully applied several model and non-model species, Streptomyces coelicolor griseofuscus....
Sr2CuWO6and Ba2CuWO6are novel p-type semiconductors that work well for photocatalytic water oxidation under visible light illumination.
Two dimensional g-C3N4/Ba5Ta4O15 nanosheet heterostructures ensure firm anchorage of g-C3N4 onto Ba5Ta4O15 nanosheets as well a face-to-face contact.
A three-component reaction of aryl-substituted ethylenes, tert-butyl nitrite, and the Langlois reagent to synthesize a-trifluoromethyl ethanone oximes was developed.
Four new cytochalasans, phychaetoglobins A–D (1–4), together with twelve known cytochalasans (5–16), were isolated from a mangrove-associated fungus Chaetomium globosum kz-19. The structures elucidated on the basis of extensive 1D and 2D NMR, HR ESIMS spectroscopic analyses, electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations. absolute configuration 2 was established by application Mosher’s method. Compounds 4–8 exhibited moderate cytotoxicities against A549 HeLa cell lines IC50 values less than 20 μM.
Phlorizin from apple peel has been used as a nutrient for more than 100 years. The present study investigated the effects of phlorizin on antioxidant capacity and antioxidative mechanisms in hamsters fed high-fat diet supplemented with (0.3, 0.6, 0.9%). Results showed that increased enzyme activities reduced malondialdehyde content plasma, liver, heart, kidney might arise higher mRNA levels CuZn-superoxide dismutase, Mn-superoxide dismutase (Mn-SOD), catalase, glutathione peroxidase, nuclear...
Abstract This paper reports a solution and solid-state study of the aqueous nucleotide coordination chemistry diorganotin(IV) antitumor agents, R2SnCl2 (R[dbnd]C2H5, η-C4H9). Interaction between (C2H5)2SnCl2 with 2′-deoxyguanosine-5′-monophosphate in neutral was investigated using trans-[Osen2 (η-H2] (CF3SO3)2 as 1H NMR recognition probe; complexes were formulated [R2Sn (Nu)H2O]n (Nu = adenosine-5′-monophosphate, cytidine-5′-monophosphate (GMP) guanosine-5′-monophosphate (GMP),...
Octaprenyl pyrophosphate synthase (OPPs), which belongs to the E-type prenyltransferase family, catalyses successive condensation of farnesyl with five isopentenyl molecules form trans-C40-octaprenyl (OPP). OPP is essential for biosynthesis bacterial ubiquinone or menaquinone side chains, play an important role in electron-transport system. Here, Escherichia coli OPPs was expressed, purified and crystallized. The crystals, belonged orthorhombic space group P2₁2₁2, unit-cell parameters...
Cucurbitadienol has anti-inflammation, anti-cancer activities, and acts as a precursor of traditional Chinese medicine active ingredients mogroside cucurbitacine. For construction Sacchromyces cerevisiae cell factory for production cucurbitadienol, we firstly cloned cucurbitadienol synthase (CBS) gene from Siraitia grosvenorii. Then, through heterologous expression CBS in the triterpenoid chassis strain WD-2091, engineered could produced 27.44 mg•L ⁻¹ which was determined by GC-MS. Further...
The title compound, C(12)H(9)NO(2), was prepared by an Aldol reaction of furfuraldehyde with 2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolizin-1-one. mol-ecule is almost planar, r.m.s. deviation 0.045 Å, excluding the methyl-ene H atoms. In crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked via weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and aromatic π-π stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6151 (9) Å].
