A myosin phosphatase was purified from chicken gizzard smooth muscle. The holoenzyme is a trimer and consists of 130,000-, 38,000-, 20,000-Da subunits (in agreement with the results Alessi et al.: Alessi, D., MacDougall, L. K., Sola, M. M., Ikebe, Cohen, P. (1992) Eur. J. Biochem. 210, 1023-1035). catalytic subunit, 38,000 Da, type 1 delta isoform, its derived amino acid sequence identical to rat isoform. larger subunit bound also interacted subunit. cDNA clones encoding large were isolated...
We report on a thickness-extensional-mode piezoelectric resonator consisting of ZnO/SiO2 diaphragm supported by silicon wafer. It is found that the temperature coefficient frequency can be reduced to zero adjusting thickness ratio. A as low 10 ppm/°C was experimentally obtained.
A novel scheme for the focusing of high-energy leptons in future linear colliders was proposed 2001 [P. Raimondi and A. Seryi, Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 3779 (2001)]. This has many advantageous properties over previously studied schemes, including being significantly shorter a given energy having better bandwidth. Experimental results from ATF2 accelerator at KEK are presented that validate operating principle such by demonstrating demagnification 1.3 GeV electron beam down to below 65 nm height...
We have proposed a fault current limiter (FCL) suppressing an overcurrent only by flux flow resistance of high temperature superconductor (HTS). If the is interrupted within allowable time t/sub a/ after occurs, type FCL can instantly recover to superconducting state and pass load current. In this paper, volume V/sub r/ HTS in required satisfy specified limiting effect was investigated theoretically. The depends on critical density resistivity HTS. As and/or increase, be reduced obtain...
Dispersed generators are being introduced to power systems secure the electric supply. However, a short-circuit capacity of system increases with introduction dispersed generators. As result, there is concern that fault current will increase further, and instantaneous voltage sag might be caused. It proposed apply superconducting limiter in distribution solve these issues. In this paper, effect studied by analysis EMTP confirmation test conducted simulator.
A flux flow resistance type fault current limiter (FCL) suppressing an overcurrent only by the of a high temperature superconductor (HTS) was proposed. This FCL may recover to superconducting state so that load is passed immediately after clearing because disappears at moment becomes lower than critical current. That infinitely short recovery be achieved. In this paper, we carry out feasibility study on resistive using Bi2223 bulk installed outgoing feeder in 6.6 kV distribution substation....
It has recently been suggested that collisions of transversely polarized protons and antiprotons at the GSI could be used to determine nucleon's transversity densities from measurements double-spin asymmetry for Drell-Yan process. We analyze role higher-order perturbative QCD corrections in this kinematic regime, terms available fixed-order contributions as well all-order soft-gluon resummations. find combined individual unpolarized cross sections are large. trace these large enhancements...
Calculation was made to examine the reduction of rating required for circuit breakers by using series-connected resistive and inductive fault current limiters (FCLs) under various locations. In model FCL, a capacitance Cp consisting coil stray necessary additional taken into account. The insertion FCL with Cp=100 nF power system proved decrease severity interrupting duty so that lower-rated breaker can be used. However, introduction Cp=10 found lessen current, while raising rate rise...
A Love-type SAW (surface acoustic wave) resonator comprising an Au-electrode IDT (interdigital transducer) on a rotated Y-cut LiNbO/sub 3/ substrate has been developed. This can be made very small in size and extremely broad bandwidth. Spurious responses of the resulting from longitudinal transverse modes Rayleigh were suppressed simultaneously without resonance Q degradation by modified rhombus weighting IDT, correct choice electrode thickness rotation cut angle substrate. Applying to...
The authors have proposed a "flux-lock" type high T/sub c/ superconducting (HTS) fault current limiter (FCL) composed of flux-lock reactor with HTS element and magnetic field coil circuit. In this FCL, the initial limiting level can be arranged by setting inductance combination coils an AC is applied to get higher resistance only in phase. This paper describes design guidelines for NTS-FCLs. impedances FCLs were expressed as function product normal square quench level, which refer "quench...
summary Titanium‐based alloys form a surface reaction layer when cast. This study investigated the effect of on cytotoxicity novel Ti‐based binary alloys. The cytotoxicities were compared with commercially pure titanium, Ti‐6Al‐4V and Ti‐6Al‐7Nb. Cast discs or without first tested for cytotoxicity, then elemental release into cell‐culture medium. elements released extracts measured by means an inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer. commercial showed no statistically...
We propose an inrush-current-limiting element as a new application of high-temperature superconductor (HTS). The is required to recover automatically superconducting state without any current interruption after the limiting operation. proposed suppresses inrush using flux-flow resistance generated in HTS. Since small be neglected when instantaneous value HTS below its critical-current, may satisfy above requirement for inrush-current-limitation. To verify performance element, we performed...
Li et al. pointed out that t he energy storage of evanescent bulk wave at a surface discontinuity in SAW reflection gratings slows the waves and dominates r eflection second harmonics.' also showed effects can be analyzed using transmission-lin e model with shunt susceptances, B. The value this B, however, must experimentally determined. They In paper, we analyze grooved (or deposited) gratings, assuming isotropic media, on basis coupled-mode perturbation theories, derive closed form...
As part of the positron source R&D for future e+−e− colliders and Compton based compact light sources, a high finesse non-planar four-mirror Fabry-Perot cavity has recently been installed at ATF (KEK, Tsukuba, Japan) [1]. The first measurements gamma ray flux produced with such using pulsed laser is presented here. We demonstrate production 2.7 ± 0.2 rays per bunch crossing ( ∼ 3 × 106 gammas second) during commissioning.
