A novel scheme for the focusing of high-energy leptons in future linear colliders was proposed 2001 [P. Raimondi and A. Seryi, Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 3779 (2001)]. This has many advantageous properties over previously studied schemes, including being significantly shorter a given energy having better bandwidth. Experimental results from ATF2 accelerator at KEK are presented that validate operating principle such by demonstrating demagnification 1.3 GeV electron beam down to below 65 nm height...

The Accelerator Test Facility 2 (ATF2) is a scaled demonstrator system for final focus beam lines of linear high energy colliders. This paper describes the resolution cavity position monitor (BPM) system, which part ATF2 diagnostics. Two types BPMs are used, C-band operating at 6.423 GHz, and S-band 2.888 GHz with an increased aperture. cavities, electronics, digital processing described. attenuators was determined to be approximately 250 nm 1 m system. Without attenuation best recorded 27 nm.

AbstractAbstractSubsurface hook formation during initial solidification in the continuous casting mould degrades quality of steel slabs owing to associated entrapment argon bubbles and non-metallic inclusions. To minimise depth improve slab quality, extensive plant experiments were performed analysed quantify effect parameters on characteristics using no. 2-1 caster at POSCO Gwangyang Works, Korea. The results reveal that meniscus heat flux plays an important role controlling...

General, dimensionless expressions are derived for the parameters describing thermo-mechanical behavior of roll-strip system, on basis boundary value problem associated with hot strip rolling. Then, it is shown that, by conducting process simulation an integrated finite element model, may be transformed into various on-line models which applied to precision set-up and control. The validity proposed approach examined through comparison predictions from simulation.

The Pohang-Accelerator-Laboratory X-ray free-electron laser (PAL-XFEL) emits intense, ultra-short pulses, enabling studies on ultra-small and -fast dynamics in various fields. We designed fabricated silicon p-intrinsic-n photo-diodes (PDs) to detect strong pulses. Four types of PDs were with different metal shapes the P- N-sides. fabrication process was split into two parts, based thickness Al anti-reflective coating (ARC) layers, evaluate feasibility detection performance.
