Abstract Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. Early studies hold opinion that gut microbiota environmentally acquired and associated with RA susceptibility. However, accumulating evidence demonstrates genetics also shape the microbiota. It known some strains of inbred laboratory mice are highly susceptible to collagen-induced (CIA), while others resistant CIA. Here, we show transplantation fecal CIA-resistant C57BL/6J CIA-susceptible DBA/1J confer CIA resistance in mice....

Growth inhibition assays indicated that the IC50 values for methotrexate (MTX) and 5-fluorodeoxyuridine (FdUrd) in HS-18, a liposarcoma cell line lacking retinoblastoma protein (pRB), SaOS-2, an osteosarcoma with truncated nonfunctional pRB, were 10- to 12-fold 4- 11-fold higher, respectively, than HT-1080 (fibrosarcoma) line, which has wild-type pRB. These Rb-/- lines exhibited 2- 4-fold increase both dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) thymidylate synthase (TS) enzyme activities as well 3- mRNA...

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. Fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) serve a major role in synovial hyperplasia and inflammation RA. (5R)-5-hydroxytriptolide (LLDT-8), novel triptolide derivative, shows promising therapeutic effects for RA now phase II clinical trials China. However, the underlying mechanism of LLDT-8 still not fully understood. Here, we found that inhibited proliferation invasion FLS, as well production cytokines. Microarray data demonstrated upregulated...

The growth and integration of position-controlled, morphology-programmable silicon nanowires (SiNWs), directly upon low-cost polymer substrates instead postgrowth transferring, is attractive for developing advanced flexible sensors logics. In this work, a low temperature SiNWs at only 200 °C has been demonstrated, the first time, polyimide (PI) films, via planar solid-liquid-solid (IPSLS) mechanism. with diameter ∼146 nm can be grown into precise locations on PI as orderly array preferred...

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) play an anti-inflammatory role by secreting certain bioactive molecules to exert their therapeutic effects for disease treatment. However, the underlying mechanism of MSCs in chronic autoimmune liver diseases—primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), example—remains be elucidated. Human umbilical cord–derived (UC-MSCs) were injected intravenously into 2-octynoic acid coupled bovine serum albumin (2OA-BSA)-induced mice. Serum levels biomarkers and autoantibodies,...

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a promising new therapeutic platform. However, the low cargo-loading efficiency limits their clinical translation. In this study, we developed high-yield EV device and explored its ability to encapsulate gene editing proteins. A series of fusion protein-based systems were constructed cargo loading efficiencies compared by NanoGlo luciferase assay. myristoylated (Myr) peptide tag cloned from N-terminal region charged multivesicular body protein 6 (CHMP6),...

In this work, we report a spectroscopy measurement of Ru21+ to Ru24+ ions in the optical region using low energy electron beam ion trap. Twelve lines were observed. The multiconfiguration Dirac–Hartree–Fock and relativistic configuration interaction methods used calculate atomic level energies transition rates. With assistance theoretical results, eleven magnetic dipole identified. experimental results provide new reference data for further investigations complex ions.

Multicentric reticulohistiocytosis (MRH) is a rare disease with poorly defined therapeutic strategies. Here, we report the case of patient eosinophilic gastroenteritis who developed MRH after 5 years. Abstract Biliary epithelial cells (BECs) can secrete bile and the epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) of BECs cause fibrosis or damage interlobular ducts, leading to chronic cholangiopathies, such as primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). Transforming growth factor‐β1 (TGF‐β1) is a potent inducer EMT while curcumin, diarylheptanoid, inhibit hepatocytes in many liver diseases. However, protection underlying mechanisms curcumin against have not been clarified. Herein, we show that treatment...
