We have previously shown that canine signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM; also known as CD150) acts a cellular receptor for distemper virus (CDV). In this study, we established Vero cells stably expressing SLAM (Vero.DogSLAMtag cells). Viruses were isolated in Vero.DogSLAMtag one day after inoculation with spleen samples from five out of seven dogs distemper. By contrast, isolation reportedly sensitive marmoset B95a was only successful three diseased animals at 7 to 10 days...
Canine distemper virus (CDV) has recently expanded its host range to nonhuman primates. A large CDV outbreak occurred in rhesus monkeys at a breeding farm Guangxi Province, China, 2006, followed by another an animal center Beijing 2008. In 2008 Japan, also cynomolgus imported from China. that outbreak, 46 died severe pneumonia during quarantine period. strain (CYN07-dV) was isolated Vero cells expressing dog signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM). Phylogenic analysis showed CYN07-dV...
ABSTRACT Canine distemper virus (CDV) uses signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM), expressed on immune cells, as a receptor. However, epithelial and neural cells are also affected by CDV in vivo . Wild-type strains showed efficient replication with syncytia Vero expressing dog nectin4, the infection was blocked an anti-nectin4 antibody. In dogs distemper, antigen preferentially detected nectin4-positive neurons suggesting that nectin4 is cell receptor for involved its neurovirulence.
In teleosts, the genomic organization of immunoglobulin (Ig) heavy (H)-chain locus was thought to follow a typical translocon-type multigene structure; however, recent studies have indicated variation in structure and this might be teleost specific. Isotypes Ig H-chain, namely IgM, IgD, IgZ IgT, been identified. study, we report discovery new class IgH from fugu. This isotype first identified sequence fugu locus. novel gene is composed two constant (C) domains, hinge region, exons encoding...
ABSTRACT A canine distemper virus (CDV) strain, CYN07-dV, associated with a lethal outbreak in monkeys, used human signaling lymphocyte activation molecule as receptor only poorly but readily adapted to use it following P541S substitution the hemagglutinin protein. Since CYN07-dV had an intrinsic ability nectin-4, became able both immune and epithelial cell receptors, well monkey ones, suggesting that CDV can potentially infect humans.

Patients: COVID-19 patients undergoing (24 April to 24 May 2020). Methods: All inpatients in general ward were assessed. Data collected on age, sex, physical ability, modality (remote/direct), need intubation or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, degree pneumonia, oxygen therapy from start...
In order to evaluate the involvement of c-yes and c-erbB-2 oncogene products, p53 tumor suppressor protein in canine mammary neoplastic lesions, sections archived paraffin-embedded samples 79 tumors were analyzed immunohistochemically using antibodies against human p62 products p53. These divided into 2 groups: 32 benign (2 adenosis, 7 simple adenomas, 14 complex 9 mixed tumors) 47 malignant (26 adenocarcinomas, 5 solid carcinomas, sclerosing 6 tumors, 1 myoepithelioma). As a result...
Since late 2013, after an absence of seven years, outbreaks porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) infection have reemerged and swept rapidly across Japan, resulting in significant economic losses. In this study, we report the emergence, mixed infection, genetic characterization 15 novel field PEDV variants with large genomic deletions. The sizes deletion varied between 582 nt (194 aa) 648 (216 at positions 28-714 (10-238) on S gene (protein). Among 17 samples isolated from individual pigs,...
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract that caused by multiple factors, including dysfunction immune system and genetic epigenetic alterations. Aberrant regulation, especially histone acetylation, was found in biopsies from IBD patients mouse models colitis, suggesting treatment approach may be useful for therapy. Therefore, we investigated effects deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor, suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA), a model dextran sulfate...
Paramyxovirus polymerase recognizes an RNA editing signal on the viral genome and transcribes mRNA in which guanine nucleotides are inserted a template-independent manner. This enables synthesis of multiple proteins from single gene, is important for growth. We developed method to quantify efficiency using Oxford Nanopore Technologies' MinION platform. performed sequence analysis reverse transcription (RT)-PCR amplicons with sites cells infected Sendai virus (SeV) canine distemper (CDV). By...
Morbilliviruses, including measles virus (MV), canine distemper (CDV), and cetacean morbillivirus, pose a significant threat to humans animals. While the host range of morbilliviruses is generally well-defined, severe cross-species transmission events also have been reported.& Their entry into immune cells, primary targets morbilliviruses, relies on signaling lymphocytic activation molecule (SLAM), receptor whose species-specific variations influence viral range. However, extent which...
Synthesis of α-CF3 carbonyl compounds has been recognized to be difficult up now because the polarization CF3δ−-Iδ+ is opposite that CH3δ+-Iδ−, and this makes it introduce CF3+ unit enolates. We recently reported an effective α-trifluoromethylation ketones by using Et2Zn with Rh catalyst, but mechanism not fully cleared. Now, we carried out detailed mechanistic studies found involvement a highly reactive alkylrhodium complex which derived from RhCl(PPh3)3 in α-trifluoromethylation....
Canine distemper virus (CDV) exhibits lymphotropic, epitheliotropic, and neurotropic nature, causes a severe systemic infection in susceptible animals. Initially, signaling lymphocyte activation molecule (SLAM) expressed on immune cells has been identified as crucial cellular receptor for CDV. Currently, nectin-4 epithelia shown to be another Our previous study demonstrated that neurons express are infected with In this study, we investigated the distribution pattern of various cell types...
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) is a highly contagious, debilitating, and globally significant viral typically affecting cloven-hoofed hosts. The diagnosis of FMD in bears Vietnam described. current study describes confirmed case bear species, the clinical signs compatible with Malayan sun bear. Thirteen Asiatic black ( Ursus thibetanus) 1 Helarctos malayanus) were apparently affected. In August 2011, an adult became lethargic, developed footpad vesicles. Over 15 days, 14 out 17 similar signs;...
Abstract Loss of the tumor suppressor NDRG2 has been implicated in development oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), acting by modulating PI3K/AKT-mediated dephosphorylation PTEN at S380/S382/T383 (STT). Here, we show that majority OSCC tumors with lymph node metastasis, a major prognostic factor, exhibit high levels phosphorylated AKT-S473 and PTEN-STT low expression. In Ndrg2-deficient mice, which develop wide range tumors, developed model treatment tobacco surrogate...
Infectious bursal disease (IBD), caused by IBD virus (IBDV), is highly contagious, immunosuppressive and causes a negative economic impact on poultry industry. IBDV-vaccinated broiler farms at south Kyushu, Japan had bursa-to-bodyweight ratio (BB ratio) reduction 28 days (d) old, followed high mortality 30 d later. We analysed the influence of IBDV atrophy bursa fabricius (BF) subsequent after d. Ten broilers were sampled each timepoint from farm with 21, 25, 35 A second flock same was 14,...

ABSTRACT The P/C mRNA of Sendai virus (SeV) encodes a nested set accessory proteins, C′, C, Y1, and Y2, referred to collectively as C using the +1 frame relative open reading phospho (P) protein initiation codons at different positions. proteins appear be basically nonstructural they are found abundantly in infected cells but greatly underrepresented virions. We previously created 4C(−) SeV, which expresses none four concluded that categorically nonessential gene products contribute viral...
Porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus (PEDV) is the aetiologic agent of porcine (PED), a highly contagious enteric disease that threatening swine industry globally. Since PED was first reported in Southern Vietnam 2009, has spread throughout country and caused substantial economic losses. To identify PEDVs responsible for recent outbreaks, full-length spike (S) gene 25 field PEDV strains collected from seven northern provinces sequenced analysed. The sequence analysis revealed S genes Vietnamese...
Epidemiologic and morphologic features of canine senile plaques (SPs) cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) were examined in 69 necropsied dogs. Dogs having only SPs (diffuse plaques) frequently suffered from malignant neoplasms, their mean age was significantly lower than that dogs with CAA only. Morphologically, diffuse showed wide distribution compared or predominantly concentrated the frontal cortex. We unable to find any significant relationship between severity individual age. These...
