Abstract We investigated the heritability of educational attainment and how it differed between birth cohorts cultural–geographic regions. A classical twin design was applied to pooled data from 28 representing 16 countries including 193,518 twins with information on at 25 years age or older. Genetic factors explained major part individual differences in (heritability: a 2 = 0.43; 0.41–0.44), but also environmental variation shared by co-twins substantial (c 0.31; 0.30–0.33). The proportions...

Background/Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the optimal ventilation mode during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by comparing effects chest compression-synchronized (CCSV) and intermittent positive-pressure (IPPV) on arterial blood gases. Methods: This prospective randomized controlled included patients presenting with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest who were randomly assigned CCSV or IPPV groups. Arterial gas analysis performed at start CPR 10 min after initiating...

It is estimated that over 60% of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients with a shockable rhythm are refractory to current treatment, never achieve return spontaneous circulation, or die before they reach the hospital. Therefore, we aimed identify whether field resuscitation time associated survival rate in OHCA (rOHCA) initial rhythm. This cross-sectional retrospective study extracted data emergency medical service (EMS)-treated aged ≥ 15 years suspected etiology and confirmed by EMS...

Background Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a very critical phenomenon, and to prepare for it, most nurses undertake simulation training, during which learners’ stress levels should be managed. This study aims evaluate nurses’ CPR training using heart rate variability (HRV) measured with smartwatch determine the correlation between individual personality traits levels. Methods prospective observational was conducted from July 2020 December 2021. For participating in advanced life...

We aimed to prospectively investigate incidence ADRs first-line anti-TB drugs related outcomes QoL.Adult patients with TB who had been treated in five Korean hospitals were enrolled. ADR questionnaire surveys blood tests performed four times serially, QoL was assessed on fourth week (±2 weeks).Of 410 enrolled (males, 62%; mean age, 52.1 ± 18.1 years [those aged ≥65...
