The biological effect of interleukin-6 (IL-6) signaling in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and whether IL-6 receptor (IL-6R)-mediated can be a therapeutic target for OSCC are unclear. aim this study was to investigate the effects inhibition IL-6R-mediated on progression evaluate availability tocilizumab, humanized antihuman IL-6R antibody, as agent OSCC.We evaluated expression levels 58 tissues 4 lines by real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR and/or immunohistochemstry. We...

Background Dupilumab is an antibody against interleukin-4 receptor α, used in the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). Objectives To evaluate efficacy and safety dupilumab adult Chinese patients with moderate-to-severe AD. Methods In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, phase III study, conducted between December 2018 February 2020, AD received (300 mg) or placebo once every 2 weeks for 16 weeks, were followed up 12 weeks. The primary endpoint was proportion...

Abstract Lymph node metastasis is associated with resistance to conventional therapy and poor survival of patients oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Although lymphangiogenesis well known be the occurrence lymph in various cancers, precise mechanisms OSCC are largely unknown. IL‐6, a potent pro‐inflammatory cytokine, has been shown play active roles including OSCC. This study aimed investigate involvement IL‐6 signalling lymphatic evaluate efficacy tocilizumab, humanized anti‐human...

The Cytochrome P450 is the major enzyme involved in drug metabolism. CYP enzymes are responsible for metabolism of most clinically used drugs. Individual variability activity one important factor that contributes to therapy failure. We have developed a new straightforward TaqMan PCR genotyping assay investigate prevalence common allelic variants polymorphic CYP1A2, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6 and CYP3A5 Japanese population. Moreover, we focused on combination each genotype clinical treatment....

We have developed a new method for directly using unprocessed biological specimens as templates the TaqMan assay. DNA extraction and purification had been believed to be required assay, but our could avoid hindering fluorescence detection, even if were used directly. Saliva was needed put on water-soluble paper dried, hairs cut about 10 mm long. This reduce both time effort involved, also risk of contamination. It should prove very valuable genetic diagnoses in various fields.

Clinical applications of a chemotherapeutic agent, 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU) in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) have been limited because drug resistance. This study aimed to identify novel mechanisms 5‐FU Here we found increased osteopontin (OPN) gene expression OSCC tissues with resistance 5‐FU‐based chemoradiotherapy. OPN overexpression cells led and abrogated the prosurvival effect mouse xenograft model. OPN‐induced required integrin α v β 3 . Targeting reversed 5‐FU‐resistant clone...

Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) is a member of the superfamily. Although its overexpression in various cancers has been reported, little known about expression and clinical significance oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). This study aimed to elucidate NGAL OSCC.We investigated immunohistochemically tumour cells stromal 96 OSCC tissues. correlated significantly with histological differentiation, as shown by specific distribution horn pearl-forming keratinized cells, but not...
