Tools for assessing multiple exposures across several domains (e.g., physical, chemical, and social) are of growing importance in social environmental epidemiology because their value uncovering disparities impact on health outcomes. Here we describe work done within the Environmental influences Child Health Outcomes (ECHO)-wide Cohort Study to build a combined exposure index. Our index considered both hazards stressors simultaneously with national coverage 10-year period. goal was this...

In a population-based birth cohort study of respiratory syncytial virus surveillance in the United States, 897/1,680 (53.4%) children were infected during infancy; 25 (2.8%) those hospitalized. Among symptomatic infants, 143/324 (44.1%) had lower tract infections. These data provide benchmarks to monitor effects maternal vaccines and extended half-life monoclonal antibodies.
Background: There are limited data on the clinical characteristics of acute respiratory illness (ARI) in infants due to seasonal coronaviruses (CoV), long-term outcomes, and how CoV compare other common viruses. Methods: Prospective cohort study previously healthy term enrolled during hospitalization or care outpatient visits (emergency clinic visits) for ARI from 2004-2008. severity was determined using a 12-point score (RSS), dichotomous LRTI URI. viral etiology real-time PCR panel viruses...
