In human proximal tubules, organic cations are taken up from blood into cells by cation transporter 2 [hOCT2/solute carrier (SLC) 22A2] and then eliminated the lumen apical H+/organic antiporters, multidrug toxin extrusion 1 (hMATE1/SLC47A1) hMATE2-K (SLC47A2). To evaluate drug interactions of cationic drugs in secretion process, epithelial engineered to express both hOCT2 hMATE transporters required simultaneously with renal basolateral transporters. present study, therefore, we...
We have developed synchrotron x-ray absorption and diffraction techniques for measuring the density structure of noncrystalline materials at high pressures applied them to studying behavior ${\mathrm{SiO}}_{2}$ glass. The density, coordination number, Si-O bond length a pressure 50 GPa were measured be $4.63\text{ }\text{ }\mathrm{g}/{\mathrm{cm}}^{3}$, 6.3, 1.71 \AA{}, respectively. Based on data in this study sound velocity available literature, bulk modulus was estimated 390 GPa, which is...
Abstract Girdin (girders of actin filaments) is a novel actin-binding Akt substrate that plays an important role in organization and Akt-dependent cell motility fibroblasts. Here, we find expressed variety cancer lines, including the breast line MDA-MB-231, phosphorylated by stimulation insulin-like growth factor (IGF-I). In vitro migration invasion assays showed required for IGF-I–dependent movement MDA-MB-231 cells. Short hairpin interfering RNA directed against markedly inhibited...
We have conducted structure measurements of ${\text{SiO}}_{2}$ glass under high pressure up to 100 GPa by an energy-dispersive x-ray diffraction method with synchrotron white x rays. X-ray data indicate that transforms from a fourfold- sixfold-coordinated at pressures between 20 and 35 GPa, then behaves as amorphous polymorph having least GPa. These results are consistent those density absorption monochromatic rays, except for the slight difference in range where transformation is completed....
To understand the stability of liquid phase ionic liquids under high pressure, we investigated behavior a series 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([Cnmim][BF4]) homologues with different alkyl chain lengths for 2 ≤ n 8 up to ∼7 GPa at room temperature. The exhibited complicated behavior, which was likely due conformational flexibility in chain. present results reveal that [Cnmim][BF4] falls into superpressed state around 2–3 range upon compression an implication multiple or...
Well‐organized spermatogenesis, including the maintenance of spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs), is indispensable for continuous male fertility. Signaling by glial cell line‐derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) via RET/GDNF family receptor α1 (GFRα1) complex essential self‐renewal murine SSCs and may also regulate their differentiation. When phosphorylated, tyrosine 1062 in RET presents a binding site phosphotyrosine‐binding domains several adaptor effector proteins that are important activation...
The compression behavior of fully densified SiO${}_{2}$ glass has been measured up to 9 GPa at room temperature by using a diamond-anvil cell with mixture methanol-ethanol as pressure medium. Optical-microscope observations clarify that there is remarkable agreement between the volume data on and decompression therefore behaves in an elastic manner. curve can be expressed accurately enough Birch-Murnaghan equation state zero-pressure bulk modulus ${K}_{0}$ = 60.2 its derivative...
The understanding of fracture phenomena a material at extremely high strain rates is key issue for wide variety scientific research ranging from applied science and technological developments to fundamental such as laser-matter interaction geology. Despite its interest, study relies on fine multiscale description, in between the atomic scale macroscopic processes, so far only achievable by large-scale simulations. Direct ultrafast real-time monitoring dynamic (spallation) lattice with...
Endoxylanases are important enzymes in bioenergy research because they specifically hydrolyze xylan, the predominant polysaccharide hemicellulose fraction of lignocellulosic biomass. For effective biomass utilization, it is to understand mechanism substrate recognition by these enzymes. Recent studies have shown that specificities bacterial and fungal endoxylanases classified into glycoside hydrolase family 30 (GH30) were quite different. While functional differences been described, still...
CD109 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)–anchored glycoprotein whose expression up‐regulated in squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs) of the lung, esophagus, and uterus. The purpose this study was to evaluate oral tumors, including premalignant lesions, assess clinical application cancer. normal tumor tissues from 124 patients examined by immunohistochemical staining with anti‐CD109 antibody, significant relations between features were statistically assessed. We found that high levels...
Background: Burning mouth syndrome (BMS) and atypical odontalgia (AO) are two conditions involving chronic oral pain in the absence of any organic cause. Psychiatrically they can both be considered as "somatoform disorder". From dental point view, however, disorders quite distinct. BMS is a burning or stinging sensation association with normal mucosa whereas AO most frequently associated continuous teeth tooth socket after extraction identifiable Because causes, often regarded psychogenic...
Tacrolimus is widely used as an immunosuppressant in liver transplantation, and tacrolimus-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) a serious complication of transplantation. For early detection AKI, various urinary biomarkers such monocyte chemotactic protein-1, liver-type fatty acid-binding protein, interleukin-18, osteopontin, cystatin C, clusterin neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) have been identified. Here, we attempt to identify for the AKI transplant patients. Urine samples...
We report nuclear magnetic resonance studies on the low-doped n-type copper-oxide Pr(0.91)LaCe(0.09)CuO(4-y) (T(c)=24 K) in superconducting state and normal uncovered by application of a strong field. find that when superconductivity is removed underlying ground Fermi liquid state. This result at variance with inferred from previous thermal conductivity measurement appears to contrast p-type copper oxides similar doping level where high-T(c) sets within pseudogap phase. The data are...
The CD109 gene encodes a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchored cell surface protein. Herein it is shown that highly expressed in myoepithelial cells of mammary, salivary, and lacrimal glands; prostate basal cells. anti‐CD109 antibody generated by the authors was available for formalin‐fixed paraffin section, strongly stained but not ductal, acinar, secretory these glands. expression negative examined breast ductal carcinomas adenocarcinomas. These findings indicate useful marker...
Abstract Background . Hepatitis A infection is caused by hepatitis virus (HAV) contracted through fecal‐oral transmission. Life‐long immunity conferred after infection. Improved sanitary conditions have generally resulted in a significant decline the incidence of A. However, low results increased HAV susceptibility. The present study investigates prevalence anti‐HAV antibody and clarifies current status susceptibility Japan at 2003. Methods total 2,430 serum specimens collected during 2003...
To maximize the thickness of sample chamber in high-pressure experiments, we have conducted tests and developed techniques relevant to cubic boron nitride (c-BN) gasket for diamond-anvil cells. The c-BN provides a several times thicker than conventional metal gaskets. We methods prepare fill with sample. By using gasket, successfully measured x-ray diffraction patterns SiO2 glass, low-Z noncrystalline sample, up 100 GPa.
CD109 is a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)‐anchored cell surface protein, which member of the α2‐macroglobulin/C3, C4, C5 family thioester‐containing proteins. It has been reported that expressed in subset hematopoietic cells, endothelial cells and several kinds human tumors. Herein it protein preferentially lung squamous carcinomas compared with other types carcinoma including adenocarcinomas, large small carcinomas. Immunohistochemical staining surgically resected specimens using an...
