Obesity is a leading risk factor for development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). High-fat intake produces cytotoxic effects in liver cells, such as excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and apoptosis. How HCC cells regulate ROS level escape the high fat diet (HFD) stress remains unclear. Herein, this work reports critical anti-ROS/apoptotic role ubiquitin-like protein interferon stimulated gene 15 (ISG15) HFD-promoted HCC. In mouse models clinical samples, upregulation...

Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common human cancers with high rate recurrence, metastasis and mortality. Aberrantly expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) are associated invasion in various cancers. Recently, miR-188-5p has been indicated as an oncogene GC since it promotes cell growth metastasis. However, underlying molecular mechanism remains to be fully defined. Using Significance Analysis Microarrays (SAM) screening, we identified that overall survival lymph node patients GC. The...

The incidence and mortality of lung cancer rank top three all cancers worldwide. Accounting for 85% the total number cancer, non-small cell (NSCLC) is an important factor endangering human health. Recently, targeted therapies against driver mutations epigenetic alterations have made encouraging advances that benefit NSCLC patients. Druggable mutations, which mainly occur in EGFR, KRAS, MET, HER2, ALK, ROS1, RET BRAF, been identified more than a quarter A series highly selective mutant...

Nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is highly malignant with limited treatment options, platinum-based chemotherapy a standard for NSCLC resistance commonly seen. cells exploit enhanced antioxidant defense system to counteract excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS), which contributes largely tumor progression and chemotherapy, yet the mechanisms are not fully understood. Recent studies have suggested involvement of histones in cellular response; however, whether major histone variant H1.2...

The complete genomic sequence of a Pekin duck origin reovirus (DRV) from China was determined. genome comprises 23,419 bp, with segments ranging 1,191 bp (S4) to 3,959 (L1). Pairwise comparisons and phylogenetic analysis indicate that the is more closely related new type Muscovy (N-MDRV) identified recently than chicken avian orthoreovirus (ARV) originally described (ARV-Md).

Adipose-tissue is a central metabolic organ for whole-body energy homeostasis. Here, we find that highly expressed H1.2, linker histone variant, senses thermogenic stimuli in beige and brown adipocytes. Adipocyte H1.2 regulates genes inguinal white-adipose-tissue (iWAT) affects expenditure. deletion (H1.2AKO) male mice show promoted iWAT browning improved cold tolerance; while overexpressing shows opposite effects. Mechanistically, binds to the promoter of Il10rα, which encodes an Il10...

Abstract The present study investigated the dissolution and oxidation corrosion behaviors of Hastelloy exposed to static liquid lead‐bismuth eutectic (LBE) at 500°C with an oxygen concentration 1 × 10 −6 mass%. exhibited better LBE resistance than Monel alloy. Both were observed in Hastelloy, maximum penetration depth spinel layer thickness corroded sample after 4000 h exposure reached 120 ± 36 21 12 µm, respectively. Annealing twin boundaries provided favorable paths accelerated into...

Hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common cancer worldwide, and viral X protein (HBx) an etiological factor in HCC development. HBx a high-turnover protein, but knowledge of role deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) maintaining homeostasis very limited. We used 74-DUB library-based yeast two-hybrid assay determined that novel DUB, valosin-containing protein-interacting 1 (VCPIP1), interacted with HBx. VCPIP1 its C-terminal amino acids 863 to 1221...

The complete proviral sequence of a Muscovy duck-origin reticuloendotheliosis virus (REV) associated with spontaneously occurring neoplastic disease in 2011 Zhejiang province, China, was determined. Comparative analyses indicate that the present REV is most closely related to chicken-origin isolate HLJR0901 and goose-origin Goose/3410/06. These findings suggest chickens or geese may transmit ducks.

Clarification of the relationship between oxygen diffusion and microstructural evolution in liquid lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) is great importance for understanding consequently tailoring oxidation process. In present study, a Si-modified ferritic martensitic steel was exposed to oxygen-saturated LBE at 500°C various times interface internal zone matrix investigated. Microstructural characterisation reveals that grain boundaries lath provide fast pathway diffusion, resulting high amount...

Abstract Background Immunogenic cell death (ICD) is a type of regulated that plays crucial role in activating the immune system response to various stressors, including cancer cells and pathogens. However, involvement ICD human against malaria remains be defined.
