Precise genome editing of plants has the potential to reshape global agriculture through targeted engineering endogenous pathways or introduction new traits. To develop a CRISPR nuclease-based platform that would enable higher efficiencies precise gene insertion replacement, we screened Cpf1 nucleases from Francisella novicida and Lachnospiraceae bacterium ND2006 for their capability induce via homology directed repair. Both nucleases, in presence guide RNA repairing DNA template flanked by...

Conventional SiO2 aerogels composed of 0-dimensional nanoparticles do not have large-scale compression, tensile, and shear deformation capabilities, the poor mechanical properties hinder their further development application. We report a scalable strategy to construct nanoporous network aerogel by alternately linking octa(aminophenyl)-T8-POSS hexaphthalic acid. The resulting exhibits high strengths (compression, tensile are 26.4, 9.16, 8.31 MPa, respectively), excellent deformabilities...

Influenza A viruses have been a threat to human health for the past 100 years. Understanding dynamics and pathogenicity of influenza in vivo is great value controlling pandemic. Fluorescent protein-carrying recombinant virus substantially useful tool studying viral characteristics high-throughput screening vitro. In this study, we generated pdmH1N1 CA04 carrying Venus reporter gene non-structural (NS) segment using reverse genetics. After passaging from lung mice, found that virulence...

Summary The world's major crops are deficient in lysine and several other amino acids essential for human animal nutrition. Increasing the content of these cereals, our source dietary energy, can help feed a global population whose reliance upon protein is growing faster than crop yields. Here we document heritable expression rice, cereal crop, tRNA lys species that introduce at alternative codons during synthesis, resulting significant enrichment proteins rice seeds without changing types...

The Arabidopsis thaliana lysyl tRNA synthetase (AtKRS) structurally and functionally resembles the well-characterized prokaryotic class IIb KRS, including propensity to aminoacylate tRNA(Lys) with suboptimal identity elements, as well non-cognate tRNAs. Transient expression of AtKRS in carrot cells promotes aminoacylation such tRNAs vivo translational recoding lysine at nonsense codons. Stable Zea mays causes into zeins, significantly enriching content grain.

In this work, a novel low-cost and robust approach is developed to covert Ti-bearing blast furnace slag (Ti-slag) the main feed stock of photoassisted NH3 selective catalytic reduction (Photo NH3-SCR) NO with high performance. The CaTi1–xMnxO3−δ catalyst was directly extracted from MnO2 in situ modification Na2CO3 reformation followed by dilute hydrochloric acid leaching water washing. Various methods were employed characterize structure changes preparation processes doping, reforming,...

Background: Cataract is the leading cause of blindness worldwide. In order to achieve large-scale cataract screening and remarkable performance, several studies have applied artificial intelligence (AI) detection based on fundus images. However, images they used are original from normal optical circumstances, which less impractical due existence poor-quality for inappropriate conditions in actual scenarios. Furthermore, these easily mistaken as cataracts because both show fuzzy imaging...

A novel route for preparing multidoped FePO4, an excellent starting material synthesis of LiFePO4 cathode materials lithium ion batteries, by using converter steel slag as raw is proposed in this study. The processes included selectively reclaiming Fe, Mn, Cr, and P from the form a ferroalloy through carbothermic process, reacting with phosphoric acid hydrogen peroxide solution to produce precursor, calcining precursor finally obtain single-phase FePO4. Effects pH value reactive system on...

Gut microbiome plays a pivotal role in combating diseases and facilitating healthy aging, natural products derived from biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) of the human exhibit significant biological activities. However, gut long-lived populations remain poorly understood. Here, we integrated six cohorts populations, encompassing total 1029 fecal metagenomic samples, employed single sample assembled BGCs (MSSA-BGCs) analysis pipeline to investigate their associated species. Our findings reveal...
