The novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) infection caused pneumonia. we retrospectively analyzed the virus presence in pharyngeal swab, blood, and anal swab detected by real-time PCR clinical lab. Unexpectedly, 2109-nCoV RNA was readily blood (6 of 57 patients) swabs (11 28 patients). Importantly, all 6 patients with detectable viral cohort progressed to severe symptom stage, indicating a strong correlation serum disease severity (p-value = 0.0001). Meanwhile, 8 11 annal virus-positive stage....
The systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) is a novel biomarker in many diseases. The aim of this study was to examine the association between SIRI and adverse events patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) undergoing percutaneous intervention.A total 1724 ACS enrolled from June 2016 November 2017 at single centre were included study, calculated for each patient. primary endpoint composite major cardiovascular (MACE), including overall death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, stroke,...
Abstract Background Antiviral therapies against the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which has caused a global pandemic of respiratory illness called COVID-19, are still lacking. Methods Our study ( NCT04252885 , named ELACOI), was an exploratory randomized (2:2:1) controlled trial assessing efficacy and safety lopinavir/ritonavir (LPV/r) or arbidol monotherapy for treating patients with mild/moderate COVID-19. Findings This successfully enrolled 86 COVID-19 34 randomly assigned to receive...
Approximately 15-20% of COVID-19 patients will develop severe pneumonia, and about 10% these die if not properly managed. Earlier discrimination potentially basing on routine clinical laboratory changes commencement prophylactical management only save lives but also mitigate the otherwise overwhelming healthcare burden. In this retrospective investigation, features were collected from 125 who classified into mild (93 cases) or (32 groups according to their outcomes after 3-7 days...
Abstract Abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism in COVID-19 patients were recently reported with unclear mechanism. In this study, we retrospectively investigated a cohort of without pre-existing metabolic-related diseases, found new-onset insulin resistance, hyperglycemia, decreased HDL-C these patients. Mechanistically, SARS-CoV-2 infection increased the expression RE1-silencing transcription factor (REST), which modulated secreted metabolic factors including myeloperoxidase, apelin,...
Acute kidney injury (AKI) induced by ischemia reperfusion is closely related to mitochondrial dysfunction. Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+ ) can enhance the function and restrain following inflammation, but it hardly delivered lacks renal targeting ability. To address these problems, herein, an ultrasmall Fe3 O4 nanoparticle used as a carrier deliver nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN), precursor of NAD+ . An outstanding sophistication current design that once NMN attached on surface...
Increasing evidence suggests an association between pro-inflammatory diets and cognitive function. However, only a few studies based on small sample sizes have explored the dementia using dietary inflammatory index (DII). Additionally, relationship DII different subtypes of dementia, such as Alzheimer's vascular remains largely unexplored. Given changes in brain structure already observed patients with we also investigated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) measures to provide some hints...
Radiotherapy (RT) hinges on DNA damage-induced cancer cell death and the subsequent anti-tumor immunity. However, efficacy of RT is curtailed by cycle heterogeneity an immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, which foster radioresistance. Here ion generator-based enhancement strategy demonstrated in a mouse model radioresistant tumor. The generator degraded resulting iron-triggered ferroptosis that enhanced immunogenic manganese-activated stimulator interferon gene reversed environment. As...
Naturally occurring (i.e., geogenic) ammonium in groundwater has been widely detected globally, but the major controls on its regional distribution have poorly characterized. Here, we identified dominant role of paleo-geomorphology driven by paleo-climate controlling spatial variability geogenic using random forest algorithm and revealed underlying mechanisms based borehole sediment analysis data obtained from Dongting Lake Plain central Yangtze River basins China. In paleo-channel (PC)...
To investigate the prevalence and epidemiological characteristics of primary palmar hyperhidrosis (PPH) among adolescents in Fuzhou City PR China.Stratified cluster sampling was carried out a cross-sectional survey by questionnaire applied 13,000 college high school students. The rate PPH 4.59% affecting both sexes equally. The peak age onset is 6-16 years, accounting for 95.6% population. Positive family history found 15.3% cases. Besides palms, axillae soles can be also affected.PPH affects...
Increasing evidence has suggested that the presence of remnant lipoproteins is a significant risk factor for atherosclerosis. Remnant are rich in triglycerides (TGs), and main components include very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) fasting state. Diabetic patients often have hypertriglyceridemia with elevated levels VLDL cholesterol but normal low-density (LDL-C). The aim present study was to elucidate potential role lipoproteins-induced atherosclerosis occurrence development in-stent...
The clinical manifestations and factors associated with the severity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infections outside Wuhan are not clearly understood. All laboratory-confirmed cases SARS-Cov-2 infection who were hospitalized monitored in Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital recruited from January 20 to February 10.A total 275 patients included this study. median patient age was 49 years, 63.6% had exposure Wuhan. virus incubation period 6 days. Fever (70.5%)...

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) RNA was found in the intestines and feces, but its clinical significance is not completely clear. We aim to characterize longitudinal test results of SARS-CoV-2 anal swabs explore association with disease severity. We included laboratory-confirmed 2019 (COVID-19) patients, who were hospitalized Guangzhou Eighth People's Hospital excluded those had received for SARS-COV-2 testing. Epidemiological, clinical, laboratory data obtained....
Abstract Background The general sluggish clearance kinetics of functional inorganic nanoparticles tend to raise potential biosafety concerns for in vivo applications. Renal is a possible elimination pathway delivered through intravenous injection, but largely depending on the surface physical chemical properties given particle apart from its size and shape. Results In this study, three small-molecule ligands that bear diphosphonate (DP) group, different terminal groups other side, i.e. ,...
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has become one of the most general malignancies in world and been shown to be leading cause cancer-related deaths. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is considered a useful for survival, used Asia thousands years. Hedyotis diffusa Willd (HDW) an important folk herb that clinical treatment various cancers prescriptions. However, its underlying mechanism action remains unclear. Presently, we innovative system-pharmacology platform systematically uncover...
Purpose To explore the relationship between postural balance and fear of falling (FoF) in older adults, examining chain mediating roles activities daily living (ADLs) depressive symptoms. Method The role ADLs symptoms FoF was tested using PROCESS macro for SPSS 26.0. Results play a FoF. Impaired is associated with poorer adults an increased risk Conclusion Targeted interventions can be developed to reduce by improving balance, increasing ADLs, alleviating [ Research Gerontological Nursing,...
