Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) is the most common monogenic autoinflammatory disease manifesting phenotypic heterogeneity. It a clinically diagnosed supported by MEditerranean FeVer (MEFV) gene mutation analysis. However, phenotype-genotype correlation not yet established clearly. We aimed to determine clinical findings, correlation, and treatment outcomes within large pediatric FMF cohort. The medical charts of children with who were followed up at eight rheumatology units reviewed...
Aim Multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS‐C) may cause shock and even death children. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical features, laboratory characteristics outcome diagnosed with MIS‐C 25 different hospitals Turkey. Methods retrospective was conducted between 8 April 28 October 2020 from 17 cities. Data were collected patients' medical records using a standardised form. Clinical outcomes according age groups, gender body mass index percentiles compared...
Objective The study aimed to report the efficacy and safety of anakinra treatment in patients with refractory multisystemic inflammatory syndrome children (MIS-C). Methods This is a cross-sectional retrospective consisting pediatric diagnosed MIS-C who were treated anakinra. Results Among 378 MIS-C, 82 (21.6%) included study. median age was 115 (6-214) months. duration hospitalization 15 (6-42) days. Sixty (73.1%) admitted intensive care unit. Patients dose 2.7 mg/kg/day concomitant IVIG...
Cyclophosphamide (CYC) is an inactive alkylating agent that transforms the alkyl radicals into other molecules and used in combination with systemic corticosteroids treatment of many childhood rheumatic diseases, such as lupus erythematosus (SLE), ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV). In recent years, rituximab (RTX), a B-cell-targeting anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, has emerged new alternative modality over CYC for induction therapy childhood-onset diseases. Clinicians adopt different practices...
This study aimed to evaluate the predictability of homozygous M694V genotype in pediatric familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients and develop a clinical scoring system enhance disease management strategies. nationwide, multicentre, cross-sectional included 3,981 FMF with biallelic pathogenic variants exon 10 Fever gene. Patients were divided into two groups: group 1 (homozygous M694V) 2 (other variants). Data collected from 37 rheumatology and/or nephrology clinics across Türkiye,...
The effects of biological disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (bDMARDs) in the clinical course COVID-19 on children with underlying rheumatologic diseases have not been fully demonstrated. To evaluate infection patients rheumatic disease receiving bDMARD treatment. This was a retrospective, multicenter study conducted pediatric infected by SARS-CoV-2 and under bDMARDs therapy. population consisted 113 (72 female/41 male). mean age 12.87 ± 4.69 years. primary diagnosis cohort as follows: 63...
To determine the rate of achieving The Lupus Low Disease Activity State (LLDAS) in children with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) for tracing pertinent treatment modalities.A total 122 juvenile-onset SLE (jSLE) patients from six pediatric rheumatology centers Turkey were enrolled study. LLDAS-50 was defined as encountering LLDAS at least 50% observation time. According to achievement LLDAS-50, clinical features, immunological profiles, and treatments jSLE have been revealed.LLDAS any...
Abstract Objectives The aim of this study is to investigate the effect anti-interleukin (IL)-1/-6 biologics on systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis (sJIA)-associated macrophage activation syndrome (MAS). Methods Demographic, clinical and laboratory data patients followed up with a diagnosis sJIA-associated MAS assessed from sixteen paediatric rheumatology centres across country. features developing while biological drugs were compared those without treatment. Results One hundred sixty-two...
We report the case of a 2.5 month-old infant with cyanotic breath-holding spells, loss consciousness and seizures. Prolonged asystole up to 70 s despite cardiopulmonary resuscitation was documented by 24 hour Holter monitoring. An epicardial pacemaker implanted followed no further seizures during spells in six month follow-up period.
The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes patients with multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children (MIS-C) according phenotypes disease and define prognostic factors for severe course. This cross-sectional included 293 MIS-C from seven pediatric rheumatology centers. A two-step cluster analysis performed spectrum their were compared between each group. Four subgroups identified as follows: I, predominantly Kawasaki-like features (n = 100); II, MAS-like 34); III, LV dysfunction...
Behçet's disease (BD) is a systemic vasculitis affecting many organ systems, with the involvement of all-sized arteries and veins. The study aims to determine main characteristics paediatric BD patients also analyse clustering phenotypes.Demographic data, clinical manifestations, laboratory features, treatment schedules, outcomes were achieved from patients' charts retrospectively. A cluster analysis was performed according phenotype.A total 225 (109 male/116 female) enrolled in study....
To develop a novel scoring system to predict colchicine resistance in Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) based on the initial features of patients. The medical records patients were analyzed prior initiation colchicine. After generating predictive score cohort, it was applied an independent cohort for external validation effectiveness and reliability.Among 1418 with FMF, 56 (3.9%) resistant (cr) 1312 (96.1%) responsive. Recurrent arthritis (4 points), protracted febrile myalgia (8...
Background. The aim of the study was to evaluate approaches pediatric rheumatologists and hematologists patients with similar musculoskeletal (MSK) complaints highlight differences that general pediatricians should consider when referring these specialties. Periodic fever, aphthous stomatitis, pharyngitis, and cervical adenitis syndrome (PFAPA) are the most common autoinflammatory syndromes in children. This study aimed to evaluate clinical laboratory parameters that may predict colchicine responsiveness. This retrospective, multicenter, cross-sectional involved nine pediatric rheumatology centers from our country., The patients diagnosed with PFAPA were compared on basis of their responses colchicine. In 806 (42.3% female 57.7% male) patients,...
