Summary In higher plants, chloroplast and mitochondrial transcripts contain a number of group II introns that need to be precisely spliced before translation into functional proteins. However, the mechanism splicing factors involved in this process are not well understood. By analysing seed mutant maize, we report here identification Empty pericarp16 ( Emp16 ) is required for nad2 intron 4 mitochondria. Disruption function causes developmental arrest embryo endosperm, giving rise an empty...

Haematopoietic stem cells maintain blood production throughout life1. Although extensively characterized using the laboratory mouse, little is known about clonal selection and population dynamics of haematopoietic cell pool during murine ageing. We isolated progenitors from young old mice, identifying 221,890 somatic mutations genome-wide in 1,845 single-cell-derived colonies. Mouse accrue approximately 45 per year, a rate only threefold greater than human despite vastly different organismal...

In this paper, we present a two-grid finite element method (FEM) for two-dimensional nonlinear parabolic integro-differential equation. We solve fully system on coarse grid space with size H and derive rough approximation of the exact solution, then corresponding linearized problem fine h. The optimal error estimates in H1-norm are obtained spatially semidiscrete FEM. Finally, numerical examples given to testify efficiency method.

Introduction Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) are analogues of secondary organs that contain various immune cells. The spatial distribution, maturation and composition TLSs have differential effects on prognosis, the roles in gastric adenocarcinoma (GA) not been revealed. Methods Thus, we evaluated prognostic value GA through analysis bulk RNA sequencing(RNA-seq) data from public databases validated our findings tumour samples Fudan University Shanghai Cancer Center (FUSCC) cohort....

Background Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection is a common and life-threatening complication following allogeneic haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT). Letermovir (LET) has been the standard prophylaxis for adult recipients, but studies in children remain limited. Methods We retrospectively analyzed with or without LET after haploidentical donor (HID) Beijing protocol unrelated cord blood (UCB) transplantation. Results Of 151 patients, 67 received LET, including 35 HID recipients...

Macrophages have crucial roles in immune responses and tumor progression, exhibiting diverse phenotypes based on environmental cues. In the present study, impact of cinobufagin (CB) macrophage polarization consequences tumor‑associated behaviors were investigated. Morphological transformations THP‑1 cells into M0, M1 M2 macrophages observed, including distinct changes size, shape adherence properties these cells. Aim: Peripheral arterial disease (PAD), particularly critical limb ischemia (CLI), is a severe cause of amputation and mortality. More than 50% diabetic patients with CLI die within four to five years. The development novel stem cell therapies may bring new hope these patients. To study the mechanisms underlying IL‐6‐promoted angiogenic microenvironment in EGFRvIII‐positive glioblastoma, VEGF expression EGFRvIII‐positive/negative tumors was determined by optical molecular imaging. Next, HUVEC tube formation assay, Western blot, qPCR, RNA silencing, chromatin immunoprecipitation, luciferase reporter and ELISA assays were performed to examine role of IL‐6 C/EBPβ tumors. Finally, vitro vivo genistein treatment experiments conducted challenge interaction between...

Lignin, a characteristic component of terrestrial plants. Rivers transport large amounts vascular plant organic matter into the oceans where lignin can degrade over time; however, microorganisms involved in this degradation have not been identified. In study, several bacterial strains were isolated from marine samples using lignin-derived compound vanillic acid (4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoic acid) as sole carbon and energy source. The optimum growth temperature for all isolates ranged 30 to...
