Data on the safety profiles and clinical outcomes of patients with solid tumors cardiac metastasis treated immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) are limited. This is an international multicenter retrospective study cancer at baseline. Patients who had received ≥1 dose ICI were included. Treatment-related adverse events (trAEs) graded per Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Event V.5.0. Objective response rates (ORR) evaluated by Response Evaluation in Solid Tumors V.1.1 when available....

Background High‐intensity resistance training ( HIRT ) programmes are increasingly popular amongst personal trainers and those attending gymnasiums. We report the experience of exertional rhabdomyolysis ER at two tertiary hospitals in Melbourne, Australia. Aims To compare clinical outcomes with other causes rhabdomyolysis. Methods Retrospective cross‐sectional study patients presenting a serum creatine kinase CK greater than 25 000 units/L from 1 September 2013 to 31 August 2014 referral...

Objectives We report on the key clinical predictors of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection and present a decision rule that can risk stratify patients for COVID-19. Design, participants setting A prospective cohort assessed COVID-19 at screening clinic in Melbourne, Australia. The primary outcome was positive test from nasopharyngeal swab. backwards stepwise logistic regression used to derive model variables predictive test. Internal validation final...

Abstract Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and increased pressure on testing resources, understanding clinical epidemiological features closely associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is vital at point of care enable risk stratification. We demonstrate that an internally derived validated decision rule, COVID-MATCH65, has a high sensitivity (92.6%) NPV (99.5%) for SARS-CoV-2 could be used aid risk-assessment resource allocation diagnostics.

There are minimal data on post-COVID-19 readmissions in relatively low-prevalence countries such as Australia. Data prior to COVID-19 demonstrate that hospitalised patients have up a 20% chance of 30-day unplanned readmission, representing significant human, financial and resource burden.1 We performed single-centre, observational cohort study inpatients admitted Austin Health from March October 2020, investigating demographic, clinical, laboratory treatment parameters associated with...

Abstract Background Countries with a high prevalence of COVID‐19 have identified reduction in crude hospital admission rates for non‐COVID‐19 conditions during the pandemic. There remains paucity such data from lower countries, including Australia. Aims To describe patterns unplanned daily pandemic major Australian metropolitan hospital, focus on acute medical presentations coronary syndrome (ACS), stroke and falls. Methods This single‐centre retrospective analysis analysed episodes between...

Pulmonary tumour thrombotic microangiopathy (PTTA) is a rare but lethal cause of pulmonary hypertension (PHT). Its underlying mechanism believed to be fibrocellular intimal proliferation and microthrombosis. It has been reported in association with gastric adenocarcinoma breast, pancreatic lung cancers. The diagnosis often made on postmortem examination due the absence diagnostic criteria its occurrence. We describe case middle-aged man who presented rapidly progressive PHT. He deteriorated...
