The TESLA Technical Design Report Part III: Physics at an e+e- Linear Collider

10.48550/arxiv.hep-ph/0106315 preprint EN other-oa arXiv (Cornell University) 2001-01-01

Recent experimental progress in the search for atomic electric dipole moments (EDMs) ${d}_{A}$ of cesium and thallium leads particular to a substantially increased sensitivity possible electron EDM ${d}_{e}$ compared with existing upper bounds. Further considerable improvement measurement ${d}_{\mathrm{Tl}}$ is likely. After brief synopsis theory EDMs, authors discuss---in view expected ${d}_{e}$---the predictions various models $\mathrm{CP}$ violation.

The physics perspectives of the production and decay single top quarks top-quark pairs at CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are reviewed from a phenomenological point view.

We compute, for $t \bar t$ production at the LHC and Tevatron, several charge asymmetries to NLO QCD, including also electromagnetic weak-interaction corrections. calculate these both inclusively with additional kinematic cuts compare our results, where possible, recent experimental results SM predictions. The induce corresponding charged leptons from semileptonic top-quark decay. Although are, in SM, smaller than ones top quarks, they are expected be measurable quite precisely. In fact,...

We show that the proposed measurements of electric dipole moments light nuclei in storage rings would put strong constraints on models flavor-diagonal CP violation. Our analysis is exemplified by a comparison Standard Model including QCD theta term, minimal left-right symmetric model, specific version so called aligned two-Higgs doublet and briefly supersymmetric extension Model. By using effective field theory techniques we demonstrate to what extent nucleons, deuteron, helion could...

The collider experiments at the Tevatron and LHC will allow for detailed investigations of properties top quark. This requires precise predictions hadronic production $t\bar t$ pairs their subsequent decays. In this Letter we present reactions $p {\bar p}, p \to t{\bar t} + X \ell^+\ell'^-X$ first calculation dilepton angular distribution next-to-leading order (NLO) in QCD coupling, keeping full dependence on spins intermediate $t\bar{t}$ state. reflects degree correlation $t$ $\bar which...

We consider top-antitop quark ( $$ t\overline{t} ) production at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) with subsequent decay into dileptonic and lepton plus jets final states. present a set of leptonic angular correlations distributions which experiments can probe all independent coefficient functions top-spin dependent parts spin density matrices. compute these for LHC center-of-mass energies 8, 13, 14 TeV within Standard Model next-to-leading order in QCD coupling including mixed QCD-weak...

A new method to determine the spin tune is described and tested. In an ideal planar magnetic ring, tune-defined as number of precessions per turn-is given by ν(s)=γG (γ Lorentz factor, G gyromagnetic anomaly). At 970 MeV/c, deuteron spins coherently precess at a frequency ≈120 kHz in Cooler Synchrotron COSY. The deduced from up-down asymmetry deuteron-carbon scattering. time interval 2.6 s, was determined with precision order 10^{-8}, 1×10^{-10} for continuous 100 s accelerator cycle. This...

We observe a deuteron beam polarization lifetime near 1000 s in the horizontal plane of magnetic storage ring (COSY). This long spin coherence time is maintained through combination bunching, electron cooling, sextupole field corrections, and suppression collective effects current limits. record required for search an intrinsic electric dipole moment on at statistical sensitivity level approaching 10^{-29} e cm.

We determine the weak interaction corrections of order ${\ensuremath{\alpha}}_{s}^{2}\ensuremath{\alpha}$ to hadronic top-quark pair production. First we compute one-loop $t\overline{t}$ production due gluon fusion and (anti)quark-gluon scattering in standard model. With our previous result [W. Bernreuther, M. F\"ucker, Z. G. Si, Phys. Lett.
