Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) has been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD), which may due modulation neuroinflammation or impairment interstitial fluid bulk flow system central nervous system. Here, we show an age-dependent several behavioral outcomes 5xFAD AQP4 null mice. Twenty-four-hour video recordings and computational analyses their movement revealed that nighttime motion AQP4-deficient mice was progressively reduced...
Abstract Intentional binding refers to the subjective compression of time interval between an action and its consequence. While intentional has been widely used as a proxy for sense agency, underlying mechanism largely veiled. Bayesian causal inference (BCI) gained attention potential explanation, but currently lacks sufficient empirical support. Thus, this study implemented various computational models describe possible mechanisms binding, fitted them individual observed data,...
The theory of event coding, an influential framework for action planning, suggests that humans first integrate stimulus, response, and effect into representation (an file) via their contingencies, then, the activation expected effects drives associated response. While previous studies have typically examined such functions after, rather than before or during, acquirement representation, Eitam et al. (Exp Brain Res 229:475-484, 2013a) demonstrated presence immediate feedback to (i.e.,...
Abstract Toluene is one of the volatile organic compounds that are harmful to environment and human health. One promising approach for eliminating toluene catalytic combustion. Although precious metal-based catalysts known show high activity combustion, price metals has restricted their widespread applications. In this study, metal-free Co3O4/ZrSn1−xFexO4−δ were synthesized Here, scrutinyite-type ZrSnO4 was focused as a promoter, which can supply active oxygen species from inside lattice...
Embodied cognition claims that the way we move our body is central for experience. Exploring dimensions of bodily engagement should therefore also be understanding experience viewing and evaluating art. However, in both laboratory more ecologically-valid gallery studies, little attention has been paid to actual ways viewers front art—where they stand, how approach or shift positions—and this impacts their experiences. This paper aims close gap by demonstrating a new paradigm gallery-like...
<b><i>Background:</i></b> Superficial Barrett's esophageal adenocarcinoma (BEA) arising from short-segment esophagus (SSBE) is visualized as a reddish lesion located on the right or anterior side wall of esophagogastric mucosal junction (EGJ) and showing an elevated macroscopic appearance under conventional white light endoscopy (WLE). However, because form color are variable, misdiagnosis reflux esophagitis SSBE frequent WLE. The aim this study to clarify WLE...
Attractiveness is an important facial attribute, which could largely influence individuals' impressions or social relationship. Lately, numerous studies have examined the morphological features driving attractiveness. Notably, most of postulated "ground-truth", universal standards However, in fact, it well-reported that there are inter-individual differences attractiveness judgments. These individual may be derived from preferences for certain faces. Nevertheless, has been no direct...
Actions enhance incidental memory for items that appear in close succession. However, the role of action processes, such as preparation and execution, on processes underlying an interaction is unclear. Here, we examined temporal dynamics action-induced enhancement. In two experiments, participants performed Go/No-Go tasks while viewing task-unrelated pictures before or after their Go motor responses. Compared to presented at similar time points No-Go trials, after, not before, execution were...
<title>Abstract</title> Sense of agency (SoA) refers to the sensation controlling one’s body and external environment. The traditional comparator model posits that SoA arises from a match between predicted actual action outcomes. Yet, when learning new motor skills, individuals lack reliable predictions This study explored development in novel where participants controlled cursor via finger movements. Across phases, we evaluated participants’ for movements either conformed learned...
Perceptual stimuli generated by one's actions (i.e., action-effects) attract attention more strongly than that occur independently of the action. Whether a stimulus is perceived as an action-effect or not thought to depend on temporal proximity action and stimulus. Given that, it possible attentional boost action-effects would have specific window. Thus, we assessed whether contiguity between effect modulates capture. We adopted spatial orientating task in which white central fixation two...
Abstract Background: Developing accurate and universally available biomarkers for dementia diseases is demanded under world-wide rapid increasing of patients with dementia. Electroencephalogram (EEG) offers promising examinations due to their inexpensiveness, high availability, sensitiveness neural functions. EEG applicability can be expanded by deep-learning.Methods: We analyzed signals based on novel deep network in healthy volunteers (HV, N=55), Alzheimer's disease (AD, N=101), Lewy...
Aquaporin-4 (AQP4) is the most abundant water channel in CNS specifically expressed astrocytic end-feet around blood vessels and thought to contribute ion homeostasis brain. AQP4 has been suggested be involved pathogenesis of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease (AD), which may due modulation neuroinflammation or impairment interstitial fluid bulk flow system central nervous system. In this study, investigate implication AD pathology, we crossed an model, 5xFAD with...
In sprint athletics, the reaction time (RT; from start signal to running onset) is one of important factors determining performance. As RT shorter, performance (i.e., total time) would be better. However, when less than or equal 100 ms, it considered premature under current regulations, leading disqualification. Therefore, athletes need decide on strategy with trade-off between gain benefits for performance) and loss disqualification). We examined how level advance in competition rounds...
