We describe the use of a unique DNA-modification-dependent restriction endonuclease AbaSI coupled with sequencing (Aba-seq) to map high-resolution hydroxymethylome mouse E14 embryonic stem cells. The specificity enables sensitive detection 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) at low-occupancy regions. Bioinformatic analysis suggests 5hmCs in genic regions closely follow 5mC distribution. 5hmC is generally depleted CpG islands and only enriched small set repetitive elements. A regularly spaced...
Upconversion emission dynamics have long been believed to be determined by the activator and its interaction with neighboring sensitizers. Herein this assumption is, however, shown invalid for nanostructures. We demonstrate that excitation energy migration greatly affects upconversion dynamics. "Dopant ions' spatial separation" nanostructures are designed as model systems intimate link between random nature of time behavior is unraveled theoretical modelling confirmed spectroscopically....
Background and Aims HBV‐pgRNA (pregenomic RNA) has been proposed for predicting the response of nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA) treatment, guiding discontinuation NA therapy monitoring emergence viral mutations. However, contributions to HCC remain open study. Approach Results Double‐center cohorts serum samples with undetectable HBV‐DNA (below lower limit detection) were obtained from long‐term NA‐treated (≥48 weeks) HBV‐related patients. The correlation between pgRNA concentration prognosis...
Abstract Hepatitis B protein x (HBx) has been reported to promote tumorigenesis in hepatitis virus (HBV)-related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), but the mechanism awaits further investigation. In this study, we found that cFAM210A (a circular RNA derived from third exon of transcript NM_001098801 FAM210A gene; CircBase ID: hsa_circ_0003979) can be silenced by HBx. expression was downregulated and negatively correlated with patients HBV-related HCC. Furthermore, reduced proliferation,...
Dye sensitization is becoming a new dimension to highly improve the upconversion luminescence (UCL) of lanthanide-doped nanoparticles (UCNPs). However, there still lack general understanding dye-UCNPs interactions, especially confused large mismatch between inputs and outputs. By taking dye-sensitized NaYF4:Yb/Er@NaYF4:Nd UCNPs as model system, we not only revealed in-depth energy-dissipative process for UCL but also confirmed first ever experimental observation energy back transfer (EBT) in...

Abstract DNA methylation plays a pivotal role in the development and progression of tumors. However, studies focused on dynamic changes hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) are rare. To systematically illustrate alternation from premalignant to early-stage liver cancer with same genetic background, this study enrolled 5 HBV-related patients preceded cirrhosis, pathologically identified as HCC dysplastic nodules. Liver fibrosis tissues, nodules early tissues these were used measure methylation....
Composition-controllable ternary CdSe(x)S(1-x) quantum dots (QDs) with multiple emission colors were obtained via a hot-injection-like method at relatively low injection temperature (230 ° C) in octadecene. Then highly fluorescent CdSe(x)S(1-x)/ZnS core/shell (CS) QDs synthesized by facile single-molecular precursor approach. The yield of the resulting green (λ(em) = 523 nm), yellow 565 nm) and red 621 CS toluene reached up to 85%, 55% 39%, respectively. Moreover, white light-emitting diode...
Abstract Background Induced pluripotent mesenchymal stem cells (iPMSCs) are novel candidates for drug screening, regenerative medicine, and cell therapy. However, introduction of transcription factor encoding genes induced (iPSC) generation which could be used to generate is accompanied by the risk insertional mutations in target genome. Methods We demonstrate a method using an inactivated viral particle package deliver four purified recombinant Yamanaka factors (Sox2, Oct4, Klf4, c-Myc)...
