The BRAF p.V600E mutation represents the most specific marker for papillary thyroid carcinoma and is potentially related to aggressive behavior persistent disease. alterations other than are less common in represent an alternative mechanism of activation with unclear clinical significance. study aims describe frequency clinicopathologic characteristics non-V600E mutations a large cohort (1654 samples) lesions characterized by next-generation sequencing. have been found 20.3% (337/1654)...

Background Clinical interpretation of trace results by Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra assay (Ultra) used as an initial diagnostic test for tuberculosis (TB) may be challenging. The aim the study was to evaluate frequency and epidemiology readouts in routine clinical practice a low TB prevalence setting propose guidance on how manage patients with calls considering data available (clinical, radiological, bacteriological etc.). Materials methods A retrospective, observational, monocentric conducted at...

Aims The International Medullary Thyroid Carcinoma Grading System, introduced in 2022, mandates evaluation of the Ki67 proliferation index to assign a histological grade for medullary thyroid carcinoma. However, manual counting remains tedious and time‐consuming task. Methods results We aimed evaluate performance three other techniques index, eyeballing by trained experienced investigator, machine learning‐based deep learning algorithm (DeepLIIF) an image analysis software with internal...

Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) is a relevant prognostic factor in germ cell tumors of the testis (GCTT), and it included pT stage. However, its detection on hematoxylin eosin (H&E) slides very challenging, previous studies reported fair to moderate inter-observer agreement among dedicated uropathologists. In present study, we tested H&E recently developed in-house double staining for OCT4/CD34 detect LVI GCTT.Nine authors [5 non-uropathologists 4 uropathologists] independently evaluated 34...

Abstract The presence of melanin pigment and melanocytic markers expression have been rarely reported in salivary gland tumors. Herein, two cases carcinoma arising pleomorphic adenoma the parotid showing diffuse myoepithelial are described. clinical-pathological clues useful differential diagnosis with melanoma discussed. In addition, a review pertinent literature is also proposed, discussing pathologic mechanisms potentially involved this phenomenon.

Spinal intradural hemorrhage is a rare event; the most common causes of spinal bleeding are traumas, medical therapy with anticoagulants and thrombolytics, vascular malformations, congenital defects coagulation. Rarely, cord tumors may cause hemorrhage. Herein, we report case patient acute quickly worsening lumbar pain: neurological examination revealed flaccid paraplegia caused by an lesion extending on right side from T1 to L2 vertebral level. Pathological hemorrhagic schwannoma. Acute...

Introduction: Serrated lesions are a heterogeneous group of routinely evaluated with different morphologic subtypes, and colorectal carcinogenesis has been related to the understanding serrated pathway in these lesions. In this setting, BRAF V600E mutation demonstrated as marker for carcinogenic evolution, while mismatch repair protein (MMR) was recognized small subset hyperplastic polyps. Design: This study aimed evaluate interobserver agreement among 6 pathologists morphological diagnosis...
