Early detection of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) will facilitate curative treatment. We aimed to establish a microRNA (miRNA) signature derived from salivary extracellular vesicles and particles (EVPs) for early ESCC prognostication.Salivary EVP miRNA expression was profiled in pilot cohort (n = 54) using microarray. Area under the receiver operator characteristic curve (AUROC) least absolute shrinkage selector operation regression analyses were used prioritize miRNAs that...

Sepsis-associated encephalopathy (SAE) is a diffuse brain dysfunction caused by many pathological events, including neuroinflammation and oxidative stress damage. Increasing evidence suggests that parvalbumin (PV) interneurons play key role in the cognitive process, whereas of these has been implicated number major psychiatric disorders. Here, we aimed to investigate whether enhanced inflammation stress-mediated PV interneuron phenotype loss plays sepsis-induced impairments.Male C57BL/6 mice...

Background Emerging evidence indicates that the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase-stimulator of interferon genes (cGAS-STING) axis plays a pivotal role in intrinsic antitumor immunity. Previous studies demonstrate conventional chemotherapy agent, teniposide, effectively promotes therapeutic efficacy programmed cell death protein-1 antibody (PD-1 Ab) through robust cGAS-STING activation. Unfortunately, cGAS expression tumor cells is reported to be severely suppressed by hypoxic status solid tumor....

Tumor necrosis factor-α-induced gene/protein (TSG)-6 regulates the immunomodulatory properties of MSCs, but its ability to protect ischemic kidney is unknown. In pigs with renal artery stenosis, we show that MSC delivery increased vein TSG-6, decreased inflammatory macrophages, and improved function. vitro, TSG-6 macrophages tubular cell injury. Therefore, released from MSCs may decrease injury, which associated regulating macrophage function phenotype.

Renovascular hypertension (RVH) can induce cardiac damage that is reversible using adipose tissue-derived mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (A-MSCs). However, A-MSCs isolated from patients with obesity are less effective than lean-A-MSC in blunting hypertensive cardiomyopathy mice RVH. We tested the hypothesis this impairment extends to their obese A-MSC-extracellular vesicles (EVs) progeny. MSCs were harvested subcutaneous fat of and lean human subjects, EVs collected injected into aorta 2 wk...
