TAS-102 consists of α, α-trifluorothymidine (TFT) and an inhibitor thymidine phosphorylase (TPI). We conducted a dose-escalation phase I study in Japanese patients with advanced solid tumours. was administered twice daily on days 1–5 8–12 28-day cycle to tumours refractory standard chemotherapy, determine its maximum tolerated dose (MTD), dose-limiting toxicities (DLTs), pharmacokinetics (PKs). MTD evaluated 1. Safety PKs were 21 treated at 30, 40, 50, 60, or 70 mg m−2 per day. DLTs, such as...

Abstract Introduction: Cases of Fontan failure with normal pressure have been reported. This study aimed to identify catheterisation-derived haemodynamic predictors heart transplantation/death, other than pressure, in late post-Fontan patients. Methods: retrospective evaluated patients who underwent cardiac catheterisation at age ≥10 years between 1993 and 2018. The predictive effect index-systemic vascular resistance index plot perfusion on freedom from the primary outcome (heart...

MATERIALS AND METHODS: Thirty-five patients (32 women, three men; age range, 18-69 years) suspected having syndrome were examined MR and sialography. Gradient spin-echo was performed a 1.5-T system. sialographic findings compared findings. RESULTS: In 31 (89%) patients, stage determined accurately correlated However, at higher two...

Abstract A 23‐year‐old Japanese woman was brought to the emergency department about 6.5 h after taking liquid and later a half tablet purchased on street. About 4.5 prior presentation, she displayed excited disorganized behavior. On examination, not alert or oriented, with Glasgow Coma Scale score of 13, did answer any questions from doctors while smirking looking around restlessly, sometimes exhibited echolalia, imitating speech doctors. She given intravenous infusion fluid for 8 h, then...

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has become a standard treatment. However, the treatment time tends to be relatively long and insufflation manipulation of endoscope can increase pain discomfort. We aimed find an optimal method for sedation during ESD.Patients scheduled undergo ESD early gastric cancer or adenoma were randomly assigned with midazolam propofol, consciousness level was evaluated by bispectral index (BIS) monitoring. Primary end points effectiveness (three parameters)...

Multicentric squamous dysplasia of the esophagus is characterized by multiple Lugol-voiding lesions (LVLs) on Lugol chromoendoscopy. Multiple LVLs are associated with a very high risk cancers arising in as well head and neck. To gain insight into pathogenesis esophageal mucosa, we studied factors for development such 76 patients who had current or previous diagnosis cell carcinoma. All underwent chromoendoscopy mucosa. The history tobacco alcohol use was documented. Polymorphisms aldehyde...

Adult ABO-incompatible liver transplantation has been known to be associated with markedly desperate outcomes. Antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) recognized as one of the primary causes these outcomes, but its clinical features and significance have not well understood. Recently, some clinicians succeeded in improving outcome adult transplantation. However, transplant patients undergoing treatments, AMR still led graft losses. We recently encountered two suffering from after remedied their...
