We report the results of pathologic and biochemical studies in a patient with 6q-linked autosomal recessive juvenile parkinsonism (AR-JP). Neuronal loss gliosis were restricted to substantia nigra locus ceruleus. No Lewy bodies found, but neurofibrillary tangles argyrophilic astrocytes seen cerebral cortex brainstem nuclei. The later findings, which have not been reported previously AR-JP, suggest heterogeneity AR-JP.

In order to ensure that three-dimensional diffusion tensor tractography (3D-DTT) of the corticospinal tract (CST), is performed accurately and efficiently, we set out find optimal lower threshold fractional anisotropy (FA) below which elongation terminated (trackability threshold).Thirteen patients with acute or early subacute ischemic stroke causing motor deficits were enrolled in this study. We 3D-DTT CST MR (magnetic resonance) imaging. segmented established a cross-section transaxial...

Objective: To evaluate the crossing fiber trajectory through corpus callosum using distortion-corrected diffusion tensor tractography in human brain. Methods: After correcting distortion associated with large-diffusion gradients, T2-weighted echo planar images (EPIs) acquired from 10 right-handed healthy men were coregistered into fast spin linear sixth-order nonlinear, 3-dimensional, polynomial warping functions. The optimal transformation parameters also applied to diffusion-weighted EPIs....

Abstract The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the diffusional anisotropy water molecules disrupted in pyramidal and extra‐pyramidal regions patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). We studied seven probable ALS (four women, mean age ± SD, 57.3 6.2 years old) according criteria World Federation Neurology. A control group consisted 11 age‐ sex‐matched volunteers (six 57.1 4.5) without disorders affecting central nervous system. Voxel‐based diffusion tensor analysis was...

Approximately 5% of cerebral small vessel diseases are hereditary, which include COL4A1/COL4A2-related disorders. COL4A1/COL4A2 encode type IV collagen α1/2 chains in the basement membranes vessels. mutations impair secretion to extracellular matrix, thereby resulting fragility. The diagnostic yield for variants is around 20 30%, suggesting other mutated genes might be associated with this disease. Radiation therapy (RT) continues to play a central role as an effective therapeutic modality for variety of tumors and vascular malformations in the nervous system. Although planning delivery techniques RT have evolved substantially during past few decades, structures surrounding target lesion are inevitably exposed radiation. A wide radiation-induced changes may be observed at posttreatment imaging, which confusing when interpreting images. Histopathologically, radiation can deleterious...
