過去に報告例のない鼠径ヘルニア根治術9年後に発症した,メッシュ感染・腹壁膿瘍を伴う虫垂炎の1例を経験した.症例は77歳,男性.右下腹部の腫脹と発赤を主訴に来院.9年前に両側外鼠径ヘルニアに対し,当科でProlene Hernia System (PHS)法を施行した既往があった.腹部CTにて右大腿ヘルニアおよび腹壁膿瘍と虫垂腫大の所見を認め,右大腿ヘルニアおよび腹壁膿瘍を合併した虫垂炎の診断で緊急手術を施行した.右大腿ヘルニアとは別に虫垂先端が前腹壁に強固に癒着しており,腹膜前腔にはPHSメッシュ汚染を伴った膿瘍を併発していた.大腿ヘルニアを修復した後メッシュを取り除き,虫垂切除と洗浄ドレナージを施行した.術後に創感染を認めたが創開放にて治癒した.

症例は81歳，女性．横行結腸癌，直腸癌に対して当科で腹腔鏡補助下低位前方切除術および横行結腸部分切除術を施行した．病理組織学的検査にて，直腸病変はtub1-2，Type 0-IIa，pSM，int，INFb，ly0，v0，pN0，pPM，pDM0，pRM0，pStage Iの直腸癌であった．また，直腸病変の粘膜下層には石灰化を伴った日本住血吸虫卵を認めた．非流行地での日本住血吸虫卵を伴った直腸癌の報告は非常に稀であり，文献的考察を加え報告する．
