We report the local atomic and electronic structure of a nitrogen-doped graphite surface by scanning tunnelling microscopy, spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron first-principles calculations. The was prepared nitrogen ion bombardment followed thermal annealing. Two types species were identified at level: pyridinic-N (N bonded to two C nearest neighbours) graphitic-N three neighbours). Distinct states localized {\pi} found appear in occupied unoccupied regions near Fermi level carbon atoms...

BackgroundTo develop an effective vaccine against a novel viral pathogen, it is important to understand the longitudinal antibody responses its first infection. Here we performed study of SARS-CoV-2 in symptomatic patients.MethodsSequential blood samples were collected from 39 individuals at various timepoints between 0 and 154 days after onset. IgG or IgM titers receptor binding domain (RBD) S protein, ectodomain N protein determined by using ELISA. Neutralizing measured plaque reduction...

Significance Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants are of concern, with the P.1 dominating in Brazil. Brazil is now seeing a record number deaths. Here, we report that pathogenicity hamsters variant similar to nonvariant SARS-CoV-2. However, it has an expanded host range as shown by its replication mice. Prior infection SARS-CoV-2 strains efficiently prevented lower tract upon reinfection. Convalescent sera from patients infected nonvariants or messenger RNA...

Nitrogen doping of a graphite surface by ion bombardment has been found to enhance the durability deposited Pt clusters for H2−D2 exchange reaction. Scanning tunneling microscopy suggests that this high is originated from stabilized monolayer morphology clusters. From comparison with case argon bombardment, ascribed nitrogen-doping effect such as an electron doping, which enhances interface interaction between cluster and rather than dangling carbon atoms at vacancy.

However, it has recently been reported that LLs have observed on graphene and graphite surfaces without fields being applied.
