From the deep: The title actinomycete yielded three new abyssomicins J–L. dimeric thioether J (see scheme) represents a unique example of masked Michael acceptor with anti-TB properties. Mechanistic insights into biosynthesis, biomimetic synthesis, stability, and biological mechanism action aid our understanding of, prospects for development Michael-acceptor-based drugs. Tuberculosis (TB) is leading cause death in world today, exacerbated by prevalence multi- (MDR-TB), extensively (XDR-TB),...

An Aspergillus versicolor isolated from sediment collected the Bohai Sea, China, yielded new dimeric diketopiperazine brevianamide S (1), together with three monomeric cometabolites, brevianamides T (2), U (3), and V (4). Structures were determined by detailed spectroscopic analysis. Brevianamide exhibited selective antibacterial activity against Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG), suggestive of a mechanism action that could inform development next-generation antitubercular drugs.

Five new polyketide derivatives, 7-O-methylkoninginin D (1) and trichodermaketones A−D (2−5), together with four known compounds, koninginins A, D, E, F, were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Trichoderma koningii. Trichodermaketones A (2) B (3) are unprecedented polyketides a bistetrafuran-containing tricyclic skeleton. The chemical structures absolute configurations of compounds 1−5 elucidated by comparing literature data extensive spectroscopic methods, including 2D NMR CD analysis....

Three new alkaloids, including auranomides A and B (1 2), a scaffold containing quinazolin-4-one substituted with pyrrolidin-2-iminium moiety, auranomide C (3), as well two known metabolites auranthine (4) aurantiomides (5) were isolated from the marine-derived fungus Penicillium aurantiogriseum. The chemical structures of compounds 1–3 elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods, IR, HRESIMS 2D NMR analysis. absolute configurations suggested perspective plausible biosynthesis pathway....

Both obesity and subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) have adverse effects on human body, but the relationship between these two conditions remains inconsistent. The presence of thyroid autoantibodies influences hormone levels, may further mediate interaction SCH. This study aimed to explore association among obesity, SCH autoantibodies. This was a cross-sectional survey 2505 subjects. Obesity defined as body mass index ≥28 kg/m2. Serum concentrations hormones, peroxidase antibody (TPO-Ab)...

ABSTRACT In Pseudomonas aeruginosa , the quorum-sensing (QS) system is closely related to biofilm formation. We previously demonstrated that 14-alpha-lipoyl andrographolide (AL-1) has synergistic effects on antibiofilm and antivirulence factors (pyocyanin exopolysaccharide) of P. when combined with conventional antibiotics, while it little inhibitory effect its growth. However, molecular mechanism remains elusive. Here we investigated AL-1 QS systems, especially Las Rhl systems. This...
