Abstract Objective To report clinical and electroneuromyographic (ENMG) characteristics of patients affected by severe COVID-19 infection, evaluated for muscular weakness. Materials methods ENMGs performed evaluation diffuse weakness in who could not be discharged from semi-intensive care COVID unit because difficulties ventilation weaning were reviewed. Patients with infection had undergone endotracheal intubation able to co-operate considered. ENMG protocol was focused on...

In patients with suspected dementia Lewy bodies, the detection of disease-associated α-synuclein in easily accessible tissues amenable to be collected using minimally invasive procedures remains a major diagnostic challenge. This approach has potential take advantage modern molecular assays for diagnosis α-synucleinopathy and, turn, optimize recruitment and selection clinical trials, drugs directed at counteracting aggregation. this study, we explored accuracy real-time quaking-induced...

Background and Objective
A variety of neurological disorders has been reported as presentations or complications COVID-19 infection. The objective this study was to determine their incidence dynamics long-term functional outcome.
Methods
Neuro-COVID Italy a multicentre, observational, cohort with ambispective recruitment prospective follow-up. Consecutive hospitalized patients presenting new associated infection (neuro-COVID), independently from respiratory severity, were...

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare, fatal presenting with rapidly progressive neurological deficits caused by the accumulation of misfolded form (PrPSc) prion protein (PrPc). Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) primarily respiratory syndrome severe acute coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2); many diverse complications have been observed after COVID-19. We describe young patient developing CJD two months mild Presenting symptoms were visuospatial and ataxia, evolving into bedridden state preserved...

By the end of 2019, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 rapidly spread all over world impacting mental health and sleep habits. Insomnia, impaired quality, circadian rhythm alterations were observed during pandemic, especially among healthcare workers in patients with post-acute COVID-19. Sleep disruption may induce a pro-inflammatory state associated an impairment immune system function.

Introduction Restless Legs Syndrome/Willis-Ekbom disease (RLS/WED) is a sleep-related sensory-motor disorder associated with poor sleep quality and impaired daily functioning. In patients affected by chronic RLS/WED, pharmacological therapy recommended. International guidelines suggest to start the treatment α2δ calcium channel ligand in most cases, unless contraindicated.

Introduction Migraine and sleep share a complex unclear relationship. Poor may trigger migraine attacks; migraine, in turn, is frequently associated with disorders. Few previous studies used questionnaires to assess changes patients who were treated migraine-preventive medications (MPMs). More extensive polysomnography (PSG)-based for this purpose not available. Objective To investigate possible erenumab, using validated home-PSG. Methods This observational, prospective, open-label pilot...

We used mental imagery as an experimental psychological paradigm to access gustatory brain representations in 80 Italian COVID-19 adult patients (68.75% reported both OD GD). with + GD have a significantly selectively decreased vividness odor taste imagery, indicating that has effect on their chemosensory representations. length type influenced status were become all negative at time...

Introduction: In cluster headache, the efficacy of suboccipital steroid injection is notable within a few days, although data are available about duration efficacy. A combination treatment, consisting plus pulsed radiofrequency, could potentially lead to long-term benefit. Evidence radiofrequency greater occipital nerve lacking. Abstract: We describe a case of young male patient with narcolepsy type 1 (NT1), who developed generalized cataplexy attacks during sexual intercourses, on which we have obtained satisfactory control pitolisant. Orgasmolepsy is an uncommon feature NT1 that has been poorly described in the literature. The prevalence this condition unclear, as it reasonably underreported by patients for embarrassment and not well investigated physicians. Pitolisant novel treatment narcolepsy, effective...
