We have studied the muon neutrino and antineutrino quasi-elastic (QEL) scattering reactions (ν μ n→μ − p $\bar{\nu }_{\mu}p\to\mu^{+}n$ ) using a set of experimental data collected by NOMAD Collaboration. performed measurements cross-section these processes on nuclear target (mainly carbon) normalizing it to total ν ( $\bar{\nu}_{\mu}$ charged-current cross section. The results for flux-averaged QEL sections in (anti)neutrino energy interval 3–100 GeV are $\langle...
We present the results of a search for νμ→νe oscillations in NOMAD experiment at CERN. The looked appearance νe predominantly νμ wide-band neutrino beam CERN SPS. No evidence was found. 90% confidence limits obtained are Δm2<0.4 eV2 maximal mixing and sin2(2θ)<1.4×10−3 large Δm2. This result excludes LSND allowed region oscillation parameters with Δm2≳10 eV2.
We present a measurement of the muon neutrino-nucleon inclusive charged current cross-section, off an isoscalar target, in neutrino energy range $2.5 \leq E_ν\leq 40$ GeV. The significance this is its precision, $\pm 4$% 10$ GeV, and 2.6$% $10 GeV regions, where significant uncertainties previous experiments still exist, importance to proposed long baseline oscillation experiments.
The nature of b-quark jet hadronisation has been investigated using data taken at the Z peak by DELPHI detector LEP. Two complementary methods are used to reconstruct energy weakly decaying b-hadrons, $E_{\mathrm{B}}^{\mathrm{weak}}$ . average value $x^{\mathrm{weak}}_{\mathrm{B}} = E_{\mathrm{B}}^{\mathrm{weak}}/E_{\mathrm{beam}}$ is measured be 0.699±0.011. resulting $x^{\mathrm{weak}}_{\mathrm{B}}$ distribution then analysed in framework two choices for perturbative contribution (parton...
A search for pair-produced doubly charged Higgs bosons has been performed using the data collected by DELPHI detector at LEP centre-of-mass energies between 189 and 209 GeV. No excess is observed in with respect to Standard Model background. lower limit mass of 97.3 GeV/c2 95% confidence level set left–right symmetric models any value Yukawa coupling τ leptons.
The ATLAS detector has been designed for operation at the Large Hadron Collider CERN. includes electromagnetic and hadronic liquid argon calorimeters, with almost 200,000 channels of data that must be sampled LHC bunch crossing frequency 40 MHz. calorimeter electronics calibration readout are performed by custom developed specifically these purposes. This paper describes system performance electronics, including noise, energy time resolution, long term stability, taken mainly from...
Single photons detected by the DELPHI experiment at LEP2 in years 1997–2000 are reanalysed to investigate existence of a single extra dimension modified ADD scenario with slightly warped large dimensions. The data collected centre-of-mass energies between 180 and 209 GeV for an integrated luminosity ∼650 pb−1 agree predictions Standard Model allow limit be set on graviton emission one dimension. obtained fundamental mass scale M D is 1.69 TeV/c 2 95% CL, expected 1.71 2.
NOMAD is a neutrino oscillation experiment designed to search for ντ appearance in the CERN-SPS wide band νμ beam. Signal detection relies on identification of charged current interactions using kinematic criteria. The analysis 1995 data sample yields no signal. Combining all studied τ decay modes, limit sin22θμτ<4.2×10−3 obtained large Δm2 at 90% confidence level.
We present a study of exclusive neutral pion production in neutrino-nucleus Neutral Current interactions using data from the NOMAD experiment at CERN SPS. The correspond to $1.44 \times 10^6$ muon-neutrino Charged energy range $2.5 \leq E_{\nu} 300$ GeV. Neutrino events with only one visible $\pi^0$ final state are expected result two processes: coherent production, {\boldmath $\nu + {\cal A} \to \nu \pi^0$} and single neutrino-nucleon scattering. signature is an emergent almost collinear...
We present a search for neutrino-induced events containing single, exclusive photon using data from the NOMAD experiment at CERN SPS where average energy of neutrino flux is $\simeq 25$ GeV. The motivated by an excess electron-like in 200--475 MeV region as reported MiniBOONE experiment. In NOMAD, photons are identified via their conversion to $e^+e^-$ active target embedded magnetic field. background single signal dominated asymmetric decay neutral pions produced either coherent...
A search for single top production (e+e−→tc̄) via flavour changing neutral currents (FCNC) was performed using the data taken by DELPHI detector at LEP2. The analyzed have been accumulated center-of-mass energies ranging from 189 to 208 GeV. Limits 95% confidence level were obtained on anomalous coupling parameters κγ and κZ.
