The Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) is a precision particle physics detector on the International Space Station (ISS) conducting unique, long-duration mission of fundamental research in space. objectives include precise studies origin dark matter, antimatter, and cosmic rays as well exploration new phenomena. Following 16-year period construction testing, precursor flight Shuttle, AMS was installed ISS May 19, 2011. In this report we present results based 120 billion charged ray events up...
Axion-like particles (ALPs) provide a promising direction in the search for new physics, while wide range of models incorporate ALPs. We point out that future neutrino experiments, such as DUNE, possess competitive sensitivity to ALP signals. The high-intensity proton beam impinging on target can not only produce copious amounts neutrinos, but also cascade photons are created from charged particle showers stopping target. Therefore, ALPs interacting with be produced (often energetically)...
Precise knowledge of the charge and rigidity dependence secondary cosmic ray fluxes secondary-to-primary flux ratios is essential in understanding propagation. We report properties heavy fluorine F R range 2.15 GV to 2.9 TV based on 0.29 million events collected by Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment International Space Station. The spectrum deviates from a single power law above 200 GV. heavier F/Si ratio distinctly different lighter B/O (or B/C) dependence. In particular, 10 GV, F/SiB/O...
New gauge bosons coupled to heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) are simple and well-motivated extensions of the Standard Model. In searches for HNLs in proton fixed-target experiments, we find that a large population (<a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:msup><a:mi>Z</a:mi><a:mo>′</a:mo></a:msup></a:math>) produced by bremsstrahlung may decay HNLs, leading significant improvement existing bounds on (<c:math xmlns:c="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML"...
In this work we demonstrate that a future accelerator-based neutrino experiment such as DUNE can greatly increase its sensitivity to variety of new physics scenarios by operating in mode where the proton beam impinges on dump. We consider two scenarios, namely light dark matter and axionlike particles show utilizing dump at DUNE-like experiment, unexplored regions parameter space be probed with an exposure only 3 months half expected initial power. Specifically, targetless configuration high...
We report the properties of primary cosmic-ray sulfur (S) in rigidity range 2.15 GV to 3.0 TV based on 0.38×10^{6} nuclei collected by Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer experiment (AMS). observed that above 90 dependence S flux is identical Ne-Mg-Si fluxes, which different from He-C-O-Fe fluxes. found that, similar N, Na, and Al cosmic rays, over entire range, traditional rays S, Ne, Mg, C all have sizeable secondary components, Mg fluxes are well described weighted sum silicon fluorine flux,...
The cumulative and independent yields of various fission products within the mass ranges 83 to 117 123 161 have been measured in epi-cadmium neutron-induced 245Cm by using an off-line gamma-ray spectrometric technique. Charge distribution correction was applied on obtain post-neutron yield distribution. From data, full-width at tenth-maximum light heavy wings, average <AL> <AH>, neutron number <ν>, peak-to-valley ratio were obtained for first time. Comparison distributions made between...
Beam dumps and fixed-target experiments have been very sensitive probes of such particles other physics beyond the Standard Model by considering production new states from primary interaction in beam dump. In a proton dump, there are many secondary interactions taking place electromagnetic showers which may be additional channels for pseudoscalar bosons or axionlike (ALPs). The targetless configuration MiniBooNE experiment, collected data $1.86\ifmmode\times\else\texttimes\fi{}{10}^{20}$...
