Hydrothermal duodenal mucosal resurfacing (DMR) is a safe, outpatient endoscopic procedure. REVITA-2, double-blind, superiority randomised controlled trial, investigates safety and efficacy of DMR using the single catheter Revita system (Revita (catheter system)), on glycaemic control liver fat content in type 2 diabetes (T2D).Eligible patients (haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) 59-86 mmol/mol, body mass index≥24 ≤40 kg/m2, fasting insulin >48.6 pmol/L, ≥1 oral antidiabetic medication) enrolled Europe...

Abstract Objectives Predicting longer term response to biological therapy for small bowel Crohn’s disease (SBCD) is an unmet clinical need. Diffusion-weighted MR imaging (DWI) may indicate activity, but its predictive ability, if any, unknown. We investigated the prognostic value of DWI one year or remission (RoR) in SBCD patients commencing biologic therapy, including incremental over C-reactive protein (CRP) and faecal calprotectin (FC). Methods A subset participants a prospective,...

Abstract Background Small bowel Crohn’s disease (SBCD) is increasingly treated with biological therapies. Predicting response or remission (RoR) for individual patients difficult and complicates treatment strategy. We aimed to determine if motility magnetic resonance imaging (mMRI) superior CRP fecal calprotectin (FC) the prediction of RoR at 1 year in commencing biologics SBCD. Methods Prospective, multicenter (n = 13) cohort study active non-stricturing SBCD requiring anti-TNFα...

Abstract Objectives Altered body fat and muscle mass in Crohn’s disease (CD) have been linked to adverse course outcomes. Prediction of treatment response or remission (RoR) small bowel CD (SBCD) biologic therapy remains challenging. We aimed establish the prognostic value composition parameters measured using MR enterography (MRE) for RoR at 1 year patients with SBCD commencing therapy. Methods Participants were identified from those recruited a prospective, multicentre study investigating...

To demonstrate proof-of-concept for a quantitative MRI method using histographic analysis to assess bone marrow oedema and fat metaplasia in the sacroiliac joints.Fifty-three adolescents aged 12-23 with known or suspected sacroiliitis were prospectively recruited underwent (qMRI) scans, consisting of chemical shift-encoded (at 3 T) diffusion-weighted imaging 1.5 T), plus conventional clinical assessment. qMRI scans produced proton-density fraction (PDFF) apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC)...

Purpose To evaluate the relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and magnetic susceptibility, proton fat fraction in inflamed trabecular bone. Methods Two different phantoms modeling (FF) BMD values of healthy marrow disease states were scanned using a multiecho gradient echo acquisition at 3T. After correction for fat‐water chemical shift, susceptibility mapping was performed, measurements compared with FF linear regression. Patients spondyloarthritis same protocol, calculated areas...

Abstract Electrophoretic karyotype studies have shown that clinical isolates of Candida albicans extensive chromosome length polymorphisms. Chromosome translocation is one the causes karyotypic variation. events been to occur very frequently at or near major repeat sequence (MRS) on chromosomes. The MRS consists repeated sequences RB2, RPS and HOK, are considered be template for recombination. To investigate which element important translocation, we constructed three cassettes, each...

Objective assessments of disease activity and response to treatment in axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) remain a challenge; quantitative imaging biomarkers (QIBs) inflammation could enhance therapeutic response. Remission of type 2 diabetes (T2D) can be achieved by many, but not all, people following bariatric/metabolic surgery. The mechanisms underlying T2D remission remain incompletely understood. This observational study aimed to identify novel weight-loss independent clinical, metabolic and genetic factors that associate with using comprehensive phenotyping.Ten patients without (non-remitters) were matched 10 (remitters) for age, sex, surgery, body weight, BMI, post-operative weight loss,...

Background
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an important part of diagnostic pathways in spondyloarthritis (SpA), and can be used to stratify patients assess severity. However, measurements the burden inflammation currently rely on qualitative assessment, which subjective time-consuming thus impractical for clinical practice. There a need more objective, faster method measuring damage with potential automation, quantitative MRI candidate tool.
Objectives
We aimed provide...
