Background/Objectives: The methacholine bronchial provocation test (MBPT) is a diagnostic frequently used to evaluate airway hyper-reactivity. MBPT essential for diagnosing asthma; however, it can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. This study aimed develop an artificial intelligence (AI) model predict the results using forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1) bronchodilator measurements from spirometry. Cadmium (Cd), a major component of cigarette smoke, disrupts the normal functions airway cells and can lead to development various pulmonary diseases such as chronic obstructive disease (COPD). However, molecular mechanisms involved in Cd-induced are poorly understood. Here, we identified cluster genes that altered response Cd exposure human bronchial epithelial (BEAS-2B) demonstrated ER stress inflammation mediated via CCAAT-enhancer-binding proteins (C/EBP)-DNA-damaged-inducible transcript...

Background: There is growing evidence about sex-related phenotypes of COPD. However, the sex differences in COPD mainly result from smokers. This study evaluated nonsmoking patients with COPD, focusing on structural changes lungs airway diseases and emphysema. Methods: Ninety-seven patients, defined as having <1 pack-year lifetime cigarette smoking, diagnosed were selected a Korean cohort. However, roles these proteins in plasma patients non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) poorly understood. Herein, we hypothesized that OPN CAIX levels could be used as diagnostic prognostic markers NSCLC.Fifty-three NSCLC 50 healthy control subjects were enrolled. Abstract Human pluripotent stem cell (hPSC)-derived alveolar epithelial cells (AECs) provide new opportunities for understanding lung development and the treatment of pulmonary diseases. However, toxicity assessments using hPSC-AECs have not been undertaken. In this study, we generated functional AECs from hPSCs evaluated their inflammatory apoptotic responses to cadmium (Cd) exposure (1, 5, 10 μM) 24 h compared with human bronchial line (BEAS-2B) primary as controls.
