Extensive adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) editing of nuclear-transcribed mRNAs is the hallmark metazoan transcriptional regulation. Here, by profiling RNA editomes 22 species that cover major groups Holozoa, we provide substantial evidence supporting A-to-I mRNA as a regulatory innovation originating in last common ancestor extant metazoans. This ancient biochemistry process preserved most phyla and primarily targets endogenous double-stranded (dsRNA) formed evolutionarily young repeats. We...

Abstract Background High-throughput sequencing (HTS) provides a powerful solution for the genome-wide identification of RNA-editing sites. However, it remains great challenge to distinguish sites from genetic variants and technical artifacts caused by or read-mapping errors. Results Here we present RES-Scanner, flexible efficient software package that detects annotates using matching RNA-seq DNA-seq data same individuals samples. RES-Scanner allows use both raw HTS reads pre-aligned in BAM...

The first earth-abundant cobalt-catalyzed cycloamination of indolylquinones and various (hetero)aromatic amine under ligand-free conditions for the synthesis polycyclic N-heterocycles has been developed. process allows facile access to with tolerance chloride, bromide, amino, thio, etc. groups in moderate high yields (up 89%). In addition, photophysical properties synthesized products were evaluated. These exhibit interesting fluorescence properties, which is promising fluorescent probes.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a significant global health concern, ranking as the sixth leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. While immune-checkpoint blockade (ICB) has revolutionized cancer treatment, its effectiveness limited by immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) and diverse etiologies HCC, resulting in response rates below 30%. We have previously identified key transcriptional epigenetic regulators that promote immune exclusion myeloid-mediated...

Ideally, the monitoring data collected by Structural health (SHM) system should purely reflect structure status. However, sensors deployed in field can be very vulnerable to extreme conditions such as heavy rainfall, which results large quantities of anomalous and unavoidably leads inaccuracy structural condition assessment even false alarms. To automatically identify whether are abnormal or not, a novel deep learning-based anomaly detection technique combining time-frequency method...

Hypobaric hypoxia (HH) exposure can cause serious brain injury as well life-threatening cerebral edema in severe cases. Previous studies on the mechanisms of HH-induced have been conducted primarily using non-primate animal models that are genetically distant to humans, thus hindering development disease treatment. Here, we report cynomolgus monkeys (<i>Macaca</i> <i>fascicularis</i>) exposed acute HH developed human-like syndrome involving and abnormal behavior. Transcriptome profiling...

Transcriptomic diversity greatly contributes to the fundamentals of disease, lineage-specific biology, and environmental adaptation. However, much actual isoform repertoire contributing shaping primate evolution remains unknown. Here, we combined deep long- short-read sequencing complemented with mass spectrometry proteomics in a panel lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) from human, three other great apes, rhesus macaque, producing largest full-length catalog primates date. The B(C6F5)3-catalyzed chemoselective hydrosilylation of α,β- and α,β,γ,δ-unsaturated ketones into the corresponding non-symmetric in mild reaction conditions is developed. Nearly 55 substrates including those bearing reducible functional groups such as alkynyl, alkenyl, cyano, aromatic heterocycles are chemoselectively hydrosilylated good to excellent yields. Isotope-labeling studies revealed that hexafluoro-2-propanol also served a hydrogen source process.

In this letter, we propose a novel low-rank-representation (LRR) based manifold-regularization approach for zero-shot learning (ZSL). Most existing regularization-based ZSL approaches perform the alignment between visual feature space and semantic on affinity matrix constructed from test instances. The plays significant role in exploiting manifold structures of space, hence to use LRR guide affinity-matrix construction by exploring subspace data. Considering locality similarity information...
