Abstract Horizontal gene transfer (HGT) and duplication are often considered as separate mechanisms driving the evolution of new functions. However, mobile genetic elements (MGEs) implicated in HGT can copy themselves, so positive selection on MGEs could drive duplications. Here, we use a combination modeling experimental to examine this hypothesis long-read genome sequences tens thousands bacterial isolates its generality nature. Modeling experiments show that antibiotic duplicated...

Abstract Background Sclerotium rolfsii is a potent producer of many secondary metabolites, one which like scleroglucan an exopolysaccharide (EPS) appreciated as multipurpose compound applicable in industrial fields. Results Aspartate transaminase ( AAT1 ) catalyzes the interconversion aspartate and α-ketoglutarate to glutamate oxaloacetate. We selected oxalate metabolic pathway target CRISPR/Cas9. Disruption leads accumulation oxalate, rather than its conversion (AKG). Therefore, AAT1-mutant...

Patients with tibial fractures are usually advised to follow a partial weight-bearing gait rehabilitation program after surgery promote bone healing and lower limb functional recovery. Currently, the biofeedback devices used for training in fracture patients use ground reaction force (GRF) as indicator of load. However, an increasing body research has shown that monitoring GRF alone cannot objectively reflect load on bones during human movement. In this study, novel system was developed...
